This is a very large complex and very hard for older ages or disabled individuals to navigate. The tram is VERY slow and the boats rarely ran. Don’t expect your Hilton Honors benefits to come into play and do expect to spend a very long time at the front desk negotiating a better room. The grounds are beautiful but the buildings are in great need of a complete renovation. The food is very expensive so plan to bring a lot of benjamin’s. Also very few restaurant’s to choose from.

I saw a whale breach from my balcony!

This place is a photographer’s dream! I’ve never seen a whale before and I was able to watch them from my balcony! I was able to catch one breaching and I also got some really good shots of one tail slapping while I was walking next to the beach. Also, the grounds and the landscaping are amazingly gorgeous! I found the service here excellent, especially the valets. They really made you feel welcomed and I don’t think I ever waited longer than 6 minutes to get my car. You can also text and get your car brought up so you don’t have to wait. As far as negatives go, the fees here are kind of ridiculous. Self-parking is $27 and valet is $37. Also, I ordered a sandwich from room service and ended up paying twice as much as I thought I was spending due to tacked on fees. My room in the Ocean Tower had tired looking furniture but I think the whole place is being converted to time shares. This Hilton ends up costing quite a bit because of the fees, but the grounds and the view and the service were all amazing!

Poor service. So crowded it’s not even funny. If you like screaming hords of people, than this will be the place for you. Was here 11 years ago, nothing fancy, but decent. Cattle call, no service skills. Wow. It’s changed and not for the better. Would never come back.

This was our second stay at Hilton Waikoloa. Absolutely love the property> Be advised there are MANY steps and lots of walking involved, even with a boat and monorail to move you over the 1 mile distance from the lobby to the ocean tower. I love being out doors and walking the property. It is amazing. A car is a must if you stay here, but the $30 per day parking fee is a bit high! Each morning we sat on our lanai, drank our coffee and watched the whales. A very special spot in Kona.

It is a huge property. Has monorail and boat that you can use to travel around the property; slow but scenic. Has beach and a couple of pools. Several restaurants. Lots of activities like lei making and luau. There’s near by shopping centers. There’s golf course.
