Stay was fine until customer service at the end fell way short

Hotel has a great location and the lobby and bar are impressive. The rooms are extremely dated but to be fair they were fine for what was needed. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was clean (even though the shower head had broken away from the tiling). The remote control for my TV didn’t work. Not a major issue as I wasn’t planning to be in the room long enough to watch TV. The bigger issue I had was not being able to access the wifi when I had to respond to something urgently for work - it wouldn’t let me access with either my phone or laptop. I had to tether to my phone to be able to get the work done. Because it was urgent I didn’t have the time to call down and go through a whole process of waiting for them to fix the issue. I raised the issue upon checkout this morning and the arrogant woman working behind the desk who talked down to me basically refused to acknowledge I’d had an issue insinuating I was lying. I explained that I didn’t have the time at the time to call down because it was urgent but she wouldn’t listen. She told me to show her on my phone ignorant to the fact that the wifi networks in the lobby are different to the one in the rooms. I walked away because I could feel myself getting angry. I walked over to leave my bag for a few hours and the bag guy demanded a tip upfront! I’ve never experienced that in a hotel before. If you stay here beware of the customer service. It sucks

Special thanks to front desk staff Dennis Young

The first night stay was uncomfortable, something wrong with my travel agent and the window of Roosevelt hotel. The room of the first night of stay was bad due to it was cold and no warm water for shower (maybe it is 17th level it takes long long time to get warm water for shower). But, Mr. Dennis Young worked very hard and did the best he can do to give us a better room (different type but the same room size). I can tell he really care about guests’ feeling and solve our problem. I thought I will not longer stay at Rosevelt after first night, but he change my mind. I will still stay there next time. Thanks Dennis so much. KC ????????????,?????????????????????????????????????(???17??? ??????????)?????,????????????? From the grand lobby to the friendly staff, I love this hotel! And to boot, it's affordable and centrally located. The Roosevelt has been my no. 1 choice for both business and family travel for years.

We were disappointed with our lack of service and the condition of the rooms. The public areas and bar and restaurant were good. The room had the worst pillows and no other options upon request. We had to ask for a coffee maker and we had to call every day for replenishment. There was no refrigerator. The lighting in the room was dull and dingy. The bathroom had mold, chipped paint, cracked tile and was very tiny. The location of the television was a liability to get to the other side of the bed. The safe was way too high for the average person, and there was no way to get to the back of it. Lastly, any hotel room should have at least two chairs if you are going to accommodate couples. We stay in many older historic hotels, but they have kept up with maintenance.

Small bathrooms but still manageable. We were on the 14th floor but could still hear traffic below, we’re thinking the glass in the windows must be very thin! No fridge in the room but there was a safe. My second time staying there & would go again, overall great value for money spent!
