Very outdated. 1 staff member up front was fairly rude. Our room was pretty bare compared to most rooms since the 90s. The TV went out the first couple days and we had to have IT come to our room 3 times to fix it. No coffe maker or microwave, they said we had a ocean side room but we literally saw 1/4" of water. Luckily we didn't come to Hawaii for our room or I'd be giving a 1 star. Let the lady at the front desk know I was unsatisfied and she said "sorry for that". Well I guess I'll pack that sorry with me.

i loved queen kapiolani!! thank you to the staff for the great service 1) location - fabulously located one block from the beach + across from the zoo with unobstructed views of diamond head. the poolside/deck gets noisy at night but when it's quiet you can hear the water + birds! 2) amenities - loved the water bottle + ice service + the pool area. but the business area was my favorite to work from! such beautiful wall photos and just really cute decor. the lobby was great too! 3) i missed the hula session i signed up for but the lei making class was my favorite thing!! diana was so wonderful and knowledgeable truly a great service the hotel included! thank you diana!! 5) cleanliness - the hotel felt super clean and well taken care of. i did find a small cockroach in the bathroom but the place was clean, i just think it's the nature of the location tbh but the housekeeping was great 6) staff - they were super nice. they were accommodating on the phone when my sisters wanted to upgrade their room. 7) rooms - my sisters loved the diamond head view and balcony - and i loved the ocean view from my studio! the studio is the perfect size for one person! i was able to work from there w/no issue i would definitely stay here again if i am ever back in waikiki. also i booked this hotel w/a package from costco and it was such a painless experience; if you're looking to book a hotel/flight/shuttle try the costco package!
