Quiet retreat in the heart of the strip

livetolaugh (Corpus Christi, Texas) on May 03, 2024

This is our 2nd stay here at Vdara. We've stayed at several Vegas hotels including GN, Flamingo, Mirage, Cosmo and PH. None have the value and convenience with extras we've discovered here for about the same price. No casino so you'll get a great night's sleep in a quiet location with no thumping music or massive crowds in a luxurious comfortable bed with a nice hot shower, large bathroom and big thick soft towels. Rooms are very spacious and all include refrigerators and microwave. Very short walk to get to your room with the best location on the strip... anything you need in a quick walk outside of the hotel including Aria's hotel and casino, less than a 5 minute walk from your room! No long waits for a Starbucks coffee or a quick bite downstairs. Even the housekeeping does a better job than any of the other properties we've stayed at. We love this hidden quiet spot right in the middle of the most convenient location on the strip!

Mixed Bag but Overpriced

Kevin E (Brookfield, Wisconsin) on May 03, 2024

Very mixed. PROs were friendly staff and amazing views as well as proximity to the Strip, Bellagio, etc. CONs: VERY dated/worn (dirty carpet with burns and snags, dented lamp shade, large stain on comfy, furniture is worn), very few hangers in closet, Market Cafe breakfast sandwich was a joke - plastic wrapped and microwaved most likely. Very expensive hotel for the condition and they added hefty charges for the mini bar which we never used (they asked if we had opened it. I replied it’s right next to the refrigerator and looks exactly the same as the refrigerator so my wife might’ve accidentally opened it, but we never used it). They removed the charges, but pretty weak that they added them in the first place. I recognize that the Covid shut downs were very tough on the industry and maybe they’re trying to play catch-up but to justify these prices they need to pursue major updates.

Hmm. I’ve stayed here once before about 9 years ago, I don’t think the rooms have had a refresh since then. Location suits, I like the fact there is no casino. Pool closed Mon-Thurs which we were not informed about prior to stay. There were no prices for the minibar, I took one bottle of Fuji water which was on the counter; it was unclear whether it was a welcome bottle as it was on the worktop with a branded bag of candy. Upon check out I was charged $25. For one room temperature bottle of water. That’s poor and felt like a cheap trick. Staff were friendly. Room was cleaned each day.

Marriott Bonvoy-MGM Partnership Needs Work

Patrick B (Seattle, Washington, United States) on Apr 30, 2024

We booked a stay anticipating the new Marriott Bonvoy-MGM Rewards partnership. Our suite was excellent. Staff was friendly, but lines and wait times were heavy due to Spring Break. Unfortunately, Marriott would not honor the nights we stayed at Vdara for credit. Disappointing. Front desk took our Bonvoy #, said we would get nightly credits (and MGM points). Credits didn't post. Filed a missing credit claim. Marriott Bonvoy customer service gave conflicting answers. If the rewards program is important to you, suggest you think twice. Still some bugs to work out.

Maintenance and service lacking.

Heather E (Portland, Oregon) on Apr 28, 2024

The “wellness” room is not as advertised. I enjoyed having a kitchen sink and dining table. You will need to request kitchenware and it’s not stocked. Bring a coffee system-there is no coffee/tea maker. The air filters were old and had the refill air filter light on. The room air filter was pulled out and didn’t work. The bathroom had a great soaking tub. The shower was decent. I don’t think the vitamin C shower head was working -it looked empty. The bed, linens, pillows were not great. The blackout blinds had large gaps. I usually stay at the Aria or Bellagio. I wish I had stayed there. We rented a cabana and they were needing a good cleaning. They didn’t describe them well. Ours had no lounge chairs? The food was subpar. The dinner at Mon Ami Gabi at Paris was fabulous! The front desk were nice. The hotel staff besides that seemed miserable-shops, security, etc. Bellman were great.
