The grounds were lovely, our room was clean, the restaurants were good, However, we only received washcloths on the first day, we had to beg for one hand towel, and had a hard time getting bathmats. The coffee machine in the main lounge was constantly out of coffee or cups, so one had to go elsewhere is search of a hot beverage. Restaurant reservations need to be made immediately upon arrival. There was no hot water in the shower and sink one night. At a different Sandals visit last year, we found the staff to be extremely friendly. At Sandals Barbados, much of the staff was unfriendly and just plain surly. But, a few really friendly staff members compensated for this..The food in all the restaurants was good with one exception, the British monkey pub.. All in all, we had a great time at Sandals Barbados and we will continue to visit other locations..

    We had THE best honeymoon.

My husband and I just returned from five days at Sandals Barbados and are already planning for our return trip. We had an amazing time. This was our first experience with all inclusive and with Sandals. My birthday also happened to pass while we were there and I think it may have been one of the best birthdays of my life. The resort is beautiful and there is so much to do. My husband regretted not booking longer when we did (I wanted a full week, but he thought 5 days would be enough). From the moment we were picked up by Ricardo ("Rhianna's brother") at the airport, we found out how great the staff were. They all had a great sense of humor and were accomodating and seemed to be having so much fun while working. Our favorite bartenders were Pierre and Dario. We also had fun meeting Shakera. Antoinette was also super sweet. We loved the swim up bar at the main pool. The food was great everywhere we went and for some reason i became obsessed with the potatos (hash browns, potato skins at Merry Monkey, baked potatoes). The drinks were on point and entertainment was fun too. The piano bar was tons of fun as was reggae night. We cannot wait to return hopefully in September of next year.

This is a beautiful property! Our accommodations were lovely, clean and restocked daily. As with all the Sandals properties we’ve visited so far the pools, except the one by the Sky Lounge, were cold. Every hot tub while we were there was defective in some form. Most were cold and the only one that was hot, the jets didn’t work. The food was hit and miss...some very good, some not so much. I would suggest avoiding the bar by Spices as the bartenders are extremely inefficient, unfriendly and unaccommodating, particularly Brittany. The staff on the Barbados side, with the exception of a few, were not at all what we’ve become accustomed to from our previous Sandals visits. Minimally 50% were unfriendly and aloof, but the remaining were wonderful. However, on the Royal Barbados side, everyone was friendly and attentive. The water sports were out of the question because the ocean was extremely rough for the duration of our stay due to the time of year we traveled I believe. Overall, this property lands toward the bottom of our list of favorites only because of the demeanor of a large portion of the staff.

So we landed on the 9th and from there it was a whirlwind of activities til we left on the 19th. We met so many great people. A shout out to Mark (big bro) & Shirley; happy Joe and his lovely wife Brenda; Chad (your welcome) and his wife Stacey; C&K from London; our New York friends Kevin and Susan; our TBay friends Norm & Becky; and our precious friends from Rochester NY Pat & Bob. Thank you for all the great laughs and partying at the Oyster Piano Bar - where Dale rocked the house down every night. A shout out to the bartenders who manned those crazy days and nights - Rina with her famous love potion. Shak with her calmness who handled the exuberant patrons and of course Rodney with his hip dancing (who can probably rival Elvis). Thank you Chef and your entire team - The food of course was second to none (from Pizza to Steak and lobster) - amazing. The Chophouse is the best. Thanks Angela. Tony - you never cease to amaze me how you handle breakfast requests all at the same time and seamlessly. To the ever ending and tireless working housekeeping and landscaping teams. You do it effortlessly. Thank you for taking care of us. And of course we often forget to mention management who take care of all of us. Thank you Ramel, Patrick, Angela and Raquel. Last but not least a great shout out to our wonderful French Butler Charles. Thank you for everything. We will see you soon. John and Colomba
