    Clean facility and clean rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Accommodating with special requests. Great family vacation. Water taxis make trip back and forth to park very pleasant. Beautiful landscaping. Top quality service.

    Portofino Bay is a nice hotel with friendly staff and a cool ambiance. Water Taxi service makes it convenient to parks and Citywalk. Hotel staff is very friendly. Restaurants and shops were an added benefit. This hotel is more expensive than other options but an overall good value.

    5 day stay and visit to Universal Studios

    Customer Service is very poor. Checkin - Even though I paid for a bay view room, we were given a room which has a small view of the bay (all the way to the end). I was told since I checked in late (around 10 PM), all rooms with good views were taken. Room Amenities - There is no water in the room (unless you pay $7.5 for the bottle). You have to ask for water bottles. While there is a coffee machine, they keep 1 coffee pod, 2 cups. So for a family of 4, we have to call for additional cups and coffee pods. Turndown service - Despite paying a lot of money, if you request turn down service, they say I had to buy club service to receive turn down service. Just a lot of nickle and diming despite paying over $3300 for the stay. If you ask house keeping to come later when you are out, they never showed up. The hotel is good, but dont expect to be treated like they are happy to have you there. Universal Studios is a business, and given the hotel is part of that business, they dont meet minimum levels of simple common courtesy. Communication - Limited communication between customer service, front desk, turn down service team, house keeping team For all the inconvenience, the hotel was kind enough to give us a $50 per night credit, but that does not change the fact that their house keeping, turn down services, phone staff service is poor and room amenities are limited (for a perceived top onsite property)

    Badly needs Updating and Repair

    This was a disappointing stay because of the outdated decor and horrific cleanliness and maintenance problems. Maintenance and Housekeeping really needs to be addressed as well as outdated dreary decor. This place is blah blah and needs a facelift. The first room that we were given had a floor soaked in water and huge black mold stained carpet. We had to request a room change . Our second room also had an odor of mold and moldy carpet and black mold in the corner and on the curtains. Our bed spread was dirty doubt changed after last guest there was blood spots on sheet. The registration staff are really personable and helpful. Joshua was really pleasant and friendly. The uniforms worm by registration staff and the hostess at the restaurant supposedly marina or captains were navy blue and the gold stripes are also Outdated cheap looking and ill fitting. I would much rather see those staff in a polo or casual shirt and nice shorts or trousers. Something more sporty and crisp and Floridian. Waiters were very friendly and helpful. The Starbucks staff were just so polite and friendly. However the Gelato shop staff were absolutely rude and unhelpful with terrible customer service on 7/14 mid afternoon Ignored us forever before serving us and no one else in the store. It was really a bother to her to serve us. Sals is understaffed and the lines take too long for checking out. There was one very nice man who was not a server or cash register/ order person who played with the kids a bit. Otherwise poor customer service. Why is it at the retail areas staff ignore customers and are not friendly. You are not greeted as a guest in any of the locations. I won’t stay here again the quality and atmosphere is not that of even a 3 star hotel.The prices are horrible in comparison to the quality of environment, decor, restaurants, cleanliness, and attitude of staff toward customers. It just doesn’t make sense to spend the money here. Terrible terrible !!!!!

    My family and I stayed here for a “work” conference. The staff was absolutely amazing, there for anything you needed. And you just take a boat taxi to all of the parks! Honestly, all of the staff we encountered were happy, fabulous, and made us feel special! Portofino Bay has so many great restaurants right on location and a super fun pool. Honestly, stay here if you want to do your vacation right!!!
