Decided to stay one more night at Disney World. I called the Dolphin on Thursday for a Friday night reservation. Just got a standard room. They have double beds and not queen like the swan, but swan was more expensive. Check in was okay. In room 9042 which was overlooking the loading dock. Not my choices, but less expensive. We actually could see the fire works at the Magic Kingdom from our room though. The beds were very comfortable, room was very quiet, bathroom stylish, the room in general was very nice. Not far from the elevator. Hotel had long sidewalks around all the corners of the building. They should consider building small bridges over the smaller water ways. Couldn't find someplace affordable to eat either. Picabo was kind of hidden down a long hallway. When driving out of the parking lot, since we had returned our key at express checkout, we could not exit the parking lot gate. It would not go up unless you scanned your room key. So how are you expected to exit parking lot if you gave back your room key? Fortunately an employee pulled up and asked if I was having a problem and scanned her employee badge for us and few others to get out. She told us numerous people had complained about this. Overall the Dolphin was very nice, more than I expected actually. Price was affordable considering the location, rooms quiet, comfortable, had everything we needed. There was no recycle container in rooms, which I expected for a Disney located hotel. Could also not find in lobby area, but outside of elevators. So took my recycle home with me.

We stayed at Dolphin this past weekend. The hotel itself is gorgeous and I was very excited to finally get my husband to join on an overnight Disney trip (he's not usually the Disney type). I chose this hotel because of the location and it being within walking distance to Boardwalk. I was given a beautiful room on the first floor. We checked in after spending the day at Epcot and we wanted to take our grandson to the pool. I went to the bathroom to change and found two small roaches in the bathroom, which I killed and went about our day. We later showered and went to Boardwalk. When we returned and got ready for bed, my grandson saw a roach crawling on the ceiling, which totally freaked him out because he thought it was going to fall on our bed. I called the front desk because now it was 3 roaches in one room in one day. They sent housekeeping with a spray bottle. Mind you, the roach was on the ceiling so the chemicals would spray onto our beds. I told her that was not a good idea so she went and got a broom and the roach wound up falling on our bed- ALIVE. She told me they were at capacity and couldn't switch us to another room. I told her I would not stay in that room. She left and later on a bellhop showed up at our room to transfer us to a new room. We never received a call from the front desk- he just showed up. He dropped us off at our new room at 10:30 p.m. with no room keys. We were going to take our grandson to the pool in the morning before checking out but we never got a key, even after calling for one- so no morning pool. Oh, before the bellhop finished helping us pack up another roach was already crawling on the wall. At checkout nothing was said about our inconvenience. No one ever addressed it. A simple apology would have been nice. I know it's Florida and there are bugs everywhere but four roaches in one room, in one day at a hotel of this "category" is not acceptable. Actually, it wouldn't be acceptable at any hotel.

i've stayed at the dolphin off and on since it opened. location is terrific, and it's a really nice property..the pool area is marvelous and large without being huge. the public areas, especially the leads to the lobby from the elevator areas are really dated; the floor is heavy mexican-style tile..fine for the 89's/90's, but needs refreshing to modernize. good restaurants and the food shop is a great amenity. my room had a king bed, closet very good, usual amenities and lots of hangers! bathroom surprisingly small...excellent around sink mirror (great for makeup) but the toilet/shower area are not designed for taller people or those with some girth... very clauterphobic when door closed or you could sit and stare at yourself in a full length mirror on the door

We paid more than we would normally pay for a hotel in the U.S., but we found it worth the price and convenience—-quick friendship boat ride to Epcot—-longer to Hollywood Studios. Impeccable customer service!
