I was at Kore Tulum in March 2019 with 4 other friends. We all had such a great time here and I would recommend the resort for those looking for a relaxing time, as this is a small, adults-only, all you can eat/drink resort. Since it is a smaller resort, it is very easy and quick to walk anywhere. I was worried because our villa was the "farthest" from the pool but really this was not an issue as it is a 3 minute walk away. The quality of the food is very good. For each meal there is a buffet option and also an a la carte menu. The drinks are strong and they do not skimp out and were always offering us refills. You can also order room service 24/7 which is included in the food/drinks. I would note that if you are looking for a "party resort" this is not it. The bars are rather quiet at night. However we did not mind and this place was perfect for our group of friends. There is 1 pool, with plenty of pool chairs. There are also cabanas that are free and available on first-come first-served basis which I appreciated as some other resorts charge a fee for a cabana. If you want to leave the resort, all you have to do is go out of the gates and hail a cab (easy to recognize because they are all white and look the same). They take USD or Mexican pesos. We explored a little bit of the town of Tulum which felt very safe. What I thought was great was the customer service and personal feel to the trip. Since it is a small resort, by the end of our four days all the staff recognized us as soon as we sat down at the restaurant and even offered us our preferred drink order. In particular, I would like to give a shout out to Allan, who led us in water aerobics and was so friendly and it really seemed he wanted us to have a great time. I also really appreciated that they held our bags after our check-out time of noon, so that we could hang out at the pool and also eat/drink until our shuttle picked us up to go to the airport. One small improvement that could be made is to replace some of the towels that have stains on them.

    Piece of Paradise

My husband and I needed to find a piece of paradise and that is exactly what we found in Kore Tulum. From the greeting in the lobby with a wineglass full of real juice and just the right amount of gin to the final day when the staff assisted with every aspect of our departure. The resort is a beautiful oasis on a rocky cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea, at first you may think the slight breeze everyday is unwanted on your vacation to paradise ,however, it is this slight breeze that makes the dining out in the open and sunbathing by the pool bearable in the extreme and very welcome heat of Tulum. Jesus was the first face we saw on day one and he paid extra special attention to our needs and was full of local knowledge to give us ideas of what we should do next in the hidden city of Tulum. He told us where and how to get to the local store and the bank and always ensured that the very Spanish taxi driver always knew where we were going prior ot our departure from the resort. Juan, the general manager, and his entire staff went above and beyond to help us celebrate a 40th birthday and another special milestone. This commitment started by ensuring that our room was a lower level balcony in Villa 6 and it was decorated with a celebratory theme balloons and streamers all over and who could forget the piece of chocolate cake with, “Happy Birthday”, scrolled in chocolate. This was such a wonderful touch in the beautiful room that was so clean and for the first time ever in our travels to the south the air conditioner was on and worked without any issues for the entire time. The room was spacious with a gorgeous bathroom with double sink and great ceramic shower with bench. The cleaning staff did an amazing job of keeping the room clean and the juice in the mini fridge stocked. It should be noted that there is no alcohol in the mini-fridge, however, one of our favorite features was the 24-hour room service (at no extra charge) the amazing staff will bring you any of the items on that menu as well as beverages at any hour day or night. This was truly the best feature at 1 am after a long day of visiting the local ruins, playing volleyball in the pool or hanging out listening to the ocean with a hint of sea spray on your face in a cabana bed to come back sun kissed to the beautiful room and need a snack…grab the menu dial 0 and Octavio was at the door with soda drinks, water, and a club sandwich as a bed lunch. Octavio was amazing with our drinks and food … he would bring us ice if we were drinking on the balcony to keep our alcohol was perfectly chilled. The food was beyond delicious!!! The first day when we arrived we were unsure what to do and ordered from the “snack menu” which is for around the pool or late night snacks and it seemed very limited. It was that evening that we realized the extent of the kitchen and the quality of the food. There is a menu for every meal and a buffet and you can always count of fresh juice (do not let the colour fool you it’s delicious). There is fresh fruit, yogurt, granola and lots of other yogurt additions with many bread and pastry choices for breakfast and supper. However, every morning there is an omelette station this was our morning staple, we tried the menu but went back to the amazing omelettes. The only complaint about the food was the coffee… it was weak… took us a couple days but we found a solution of ordering a café americano with a double expresso…problem solved. The entertainment was great not loud or overwhelming and well spaced out not a show every night with the same impersonators. It was cultural with a variety of an international dances and a Mayan experience as well as Karaoke and cooking lessons. We cannot say enough about the entertainment and the experiences the whole package was just amazing. Carlos, the manager, should be so proud of his team and the leadership he shows everyday in being present and available to the staff and the guests. Thank you all for such a wonderful vacation and we are already booking vacation dates for next year to return to the beautiful Kore Tulum!!!

I was traveling solo to Tulum for a friends wedding, and this was one of the three recommended resorts so I easily gravitated towards it. No regrets staying here, but will definitely check out another place next time I visit Tulum. Kore is set up to deliver an exceptional experience but it just fell a little flat in some areas. What I loved: - The pool is absolutely amazing with stunning views over the sea - Gate check for all guests and visitors coming/going - Never super crowded when I was there (even for being a weekend in March) which meant no issues getting a table for breakfast or lounge chair at the pool and it was pretty quiet What I didn't love: - Amenities are there but they need to be updated or better taken care of (maybe both). They gym was rugged and should be completely renovated. And, the bikes we had definitely should be replaced - The food. Convenient yes ... but by no means good. Not even ok. Would be true for the drinks at the bar too - This was a huge rub of mine going in, but despite their web site saying best price guaranteed, it wasn't ; I actually found my room via Tripadvisor for half the costs. When I reached out to the hotel to see if they would price match because of the "guaranteed" statement, they told me no Consistent with my overall experience, I got a massage at the Spa on-site. The massage itself was really great. But the facilities need more love. So, depending on what you are looking for, this may be a great spot for you. It was for me on this trip, but now that I have visited Tulum and have a better sense of the area, I look forward to returning and staying somewhere different.

I stayed at Kore Tulum for 7 days with my mother and brother. We wanted a relaxing vacation that was stress free but where we could also go visit and leave the resort. Kore was at a great location in Tulum - 10 minute bike ride to the town and 10 minute bike ride to the ruins. You had the best of both worlds. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I want to especially thank the yoga instructors - Yoshabel and Inga, they definitely made our stay extra special and relaxing. They were extremely professional and knowledgeable and I would like to thank them as their time and teaching have inspired and have helped my mom with her recovery from a double hip surgery. I would highly recommend this hotel.
