The hotel. Is beautiful and the rooms are very spacious and updated. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the theme park view from our balcony was amazing. It was also great that we were always able to get into California adventure with no lines! Would definitely stay here again if visiting.

More than a family could hope for

Pulling up in the front of the hotel was just like many resorts we've been to, very clean , lots of room. Staff were helpful directing people. I later was impressed how smoothly it was run after realizing the volume of guests coming and going at the resort. Check in was quick and easy, the front desk staff wasted no time getting to know everyone by name and knew absolutely everything about the hotel, resort and parks. And we threw a lot of questions out there! The room was equipped as a normal room would be, but had power outlets and USB charging absolutely anywhere you could think to put them, which was great for all our phones and devices we brought to make sure we were all connected while in the parks. Pool area was very well kept and had a lot of different areas so kids could play, but quieter folks could still relax. I was amazed at the detail in the great rooom. Notice when you go there that the ornate tiles in the floor meet up with the carpet but the patern doesn't change at all, the transition is seemless. There was always something going on and we were fully entertained. Food was great in all the restaurants we tried, the buffett was very well stocked and kept completely full at all times when we were there. Top notch all around. The hotel is classed as a four diamond hotel, I understand the only way to get a fifth diamond would be to have a golf course, however it has a Disneyland!!! Well worth the additional diamond in my books.

Just wrapped up a stay here for my bachelorette party and I think the cost is completely justified! We had a fabulous weekend and this hotel is great for a big group. Here are some pros and cons to this hotel. Pros: - Park access and downtown Disney access. - Easy check in and friendly cast members. - Fabulous restaurants! - The pool was amazing and perfect for a mid day break. - Great big rooms that are perfect for large groups. Cons: - Its very expensive, but I think it is well worth it to be next to DCA and Downtown Disney. - Busy, very busy! - Huge and sometimes easy to forget how to get somewhere.

Stayed at Disneyland Grand Californian Hotel and Spa. Booked two very expensive rooms almost a year ago. Am temporarily in a wheelchair. Tried to book a handicapped accessible room two months ago - told that it could only be done 10 days prior to arrival – which we did Receptionist danced around the issue of handicapped room – acknowledged that was what we booked - asked if I would like a room with bath. No! Given rooms 5023/5024. Take note of numbers. Room not for handicapped -but we made do. Night one - awful racket upstairs – starting at 10 pm lasting an hour. Noise started 6:30 next morning. Same noise night/morning two. Sent my husband upstairs. Hospitality Suite above these rooms. Night three called Front Desk – told they would be done by 10 pm. Pointed out that it was after 10pm. Noise until 11:30 - started 6:30am. So much for being at resort/spa Next morning spoke to duty manager, Tony. Told us that “yes” they start cleaning at 10 pm and had complaints before. Suggested stay rooms and see what a night was lik. Asked that a manager call us. Gave him business card. Assured we would get a call. Week later -have not heard from anyone. From completely ignoring the need for a handicapped accessible room, to booking guests underneath a noisy work area, to the lack of a professional response to very legitimate complaint – this hotel really blew it. It was a Grand disappointment.

Our family stayed here to celebrate two big birthdays and our wedding anniversary. The lobby is a wow factor. We've stayed here before and when we want to splurge, we stay here, primarily due to the location. It is so convenient. It's very expensive for what you get. We stayed in standard rooms and while the view was nothing to speak of, it was very quiet. The rooms were nice and spacious. I do feel the lotions aren't as good as they used to be. We had the best housekeepers! They were so nice and did such a great job with a smile on their face. I felt it was important to eat at a character breakfast and I made reservations at the Storytellers Café. It was worth every penny! The food was delicious and plentiful. When I made the reservation, I informed them it was our grandson's 5th birthday. The characters kept coming by the table. Our grandchildren were invited to be part of a parade and singing. Our grandson was so happy. Our server brought a dessert with a candle and he and others sang to our grandson. It made his day. We chose valet parking. The attendants were very friendly and helpful. I only have two complaints. You wait in a long line for a Disney staff person with an iPad to take your information and then walk you to a reservation agent. It took forever! My daughter and son-in-law were checking in and there was a fire alarm and were told to evacuate the hotel. There was no announcement in the rooms. Everyone was outside at least 30 minutes. I was watching my granddaughter while she napped. My daughter called to tell me hotel staff said to wake her up and bring her out. I did so, and as soon as we left the room, everyone was coming back into the hotel. They need a better communication system. Due to the evacuation, my son-in-law wasn't given any of the packet information that included tickets, gift card, lanyards, etc. We had to go back later and wait in another long line so he could get his packet. When I checked out of the hotel, I had a question about a charge. While I was waiting in another long line, a man came up behind me. A staff person immediately came from behind the desk and escorted him to the desk and checked him in. Talk about service! I would have liked that kind of treatment!
