This was our 4th visit to Isla Mujeres Palace. It was great to be greeted as old friends. The room was excellent, but would be better without the huge jacuzzi, the beds are sumptuous. The food is fairly good but a little inconsistent, however the Cevicheria is excellent. The evening entertainment is good, particularly the guitarist who plays Pink Floyd and the Mexican dancing. Above all the staff make the visit a really enjoyable experience. Pedro and Julian went out of their way to ensure that we had the best of dinners, recommending Meals that were not on the menu. Mitzi and Macedonio looked after us at breakfast, Mitzi sorting out our morning green drink with Macedonio providing our other requirements. It was a highlight of the mornings to see the smiling faces of Luis and Wilma. Christian does a great job serving the pool, beach and the cevicheria. Martha and Deiby ably assisted us from the front desk. A major downside and the reason why I have only given 4 stars is the overly loud music from the beach clubs on either side of the resort and from visiting boats. Unfortunately the peace and quiet is further disturbed by the thumping music played around the pool. If this wasn't enough, there were some who thought it was a good idea to listen to their own music. Can't understand why the Palace don't play a variety of music which would appeal o the profile of the week's vistors. Also by mid/late afternoon the conversation of those around the pool bar rises by a few decibels.

We visited the isla mujeres palace as part of our honeymoon and it was more than perfect. We let them know it was our honeymoon and the staff had decorated our room with petals and pictures of our wedding that they asked us to send them. Room was lovely and staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Couldn't think of a better hotel or location to start our honeymoon.

We arrived on Wednesday not knowing What to expect of Isla Mujeres and México, as we have never been before. We are on our third day at the Palace and it is faultless, the staff are amazing and can’t do enough for you; the food is amazing and overall atmosphere is brilliant. Thank you to the Palace staff for making our trip so memorable. We will definitely be returning to this resort (and for the beaches too)!

Its a nice place- but not 4.5 stars to us.

My husband and I have been to Isla Mujeres about 7 times now. Tried this hotel based on reviews- and I feel badly about this but here goes....I don't get what everyone else sees in this place. I feel like I paid way too much for this hotel to be what it was. Especially when compared to other hotels on the island. My honest review- The hotel and rooms are very clean. The 2" gap under the room door means you can hear every single person outside your room, so we stuck a towel under our door to muffle it. Overall, it's a very nice, smaller hotel, and NO kids, which is perfect. (some "adults only" places allow people to pay adult rates for kids- which is frustrating.) This island is super safe but if you are worried for whatever reason about safety, they have a gate and a moat with crocodiles haha. (I never could find one!) We expected super nice staff because of other reviews but the staff over all were only kinda nice, some very rude actually. The dive instructor is very nice- and they have the most friendly entertainment guys. SANTIAGO was the best. There are only a few rooms with good views. Most face the pool? Pool side/ beach side service is very slow, almost none most days. They do not allow use of the beach beds with the best beach views for a regular customer, they make you join a club or something. Other hotels on the island do not do this! The "exclusive" beach area sat vacant the entire 7 days we were there. Palace points are just funny. They got us a *slight discount for off-site excursions. Other wise, spend 200 points in gift shop, pay the "tax" of $34 bucks for a pair of $15 dollar sun glasses. No thanks. The beach area is pretty- not very big, which is fine, its very natural beach with sea-grass (do not expect all white sand like Playa Norte) and they have good spots for snorkeling by the dock. BUT- boats are NON STOP all day on two docks. Loud music coming from the boats, you have one playing music over the other, as they are letting off Cancun day tourists. It makes the water murky, so only snorkel in the morning- and the battling music ruins sitting by the beach area. It is even loud enough to ruin eating lunch outside at the restaurant. Which brings me to food- which is just average. There are other all inclusive on the island that are far better when it comes to food. It was like eating at a lower end restaurant. (Think Applebees quality, hit or miss and, man, when they miss it is not good!) And the food quality didn't stay the same. Some days the pool restaurant food was good, others it was bad. One day room service club sandwich was one way, the next it was another way. We will not go back to Palace. It was not for us. We are not new to Isla, so maybe for first timers this is the place to be!? I think if this had been our first time there and we had not gone to other all-inclusives on the island we might have been more impressed. Thing is, we paid more for this place than we did the other places and this place was not as awesome. I guess our expectations were too high.
