English language is not fluent. Housekeeper had better English speaking and understanding than anyone else at the entire hotel. Hotel was beautiful but the food was not great (apparently you can have bread at the buffet but not butter!). Beautiful property, amazing rooms, good bar tenders and food staff at the upper pool! Beach is not walkable or swimmable. Sharp decline from hotel beach area to the water! Some drivers of the shuttles, spent more time on their cell phone, than driving guests. Air Canada vacations ranked this as a 4.5 star, we give it a 3.0. Nothing more!

Where do one ever begin. The hotel itself is amazing, situated on the side of a mountain. The only downside is, there was no elevator and I felt bad for those situated on the top floor. The room is cozy, however it needs a mini fridge to store foods, drinks and other stuff. The staff on the front desk are confusing to deal with, especially with reservations to their dinner restaurants. They said we have to be at the lobby by 10:00am everyday to reserve for same day dinner (As it has to be done in person). But we were confused as some of the slots were sold out already when there was only few of us on the line at 10:00am. (I believe they prioritized their members, they just do not disclosed it, but it is very disappointing. Each stations at the desk takes so long per guests and somehow does not mind the long queue behind Kudos to the servers especially NOE (the lobby evening barista) he deserved a raise and all praises, he aced those busy nights when we were there. Also the entertainment group, omg! Ricardo or erik (If I am not mistaken) is the jack of all trades; he brought life to the entire hotel during our stay. Park Royal has been the epitome of comfort and elegance in other places, for this location, I would rate it as 3 stars. I know the service reflects to the situation of the entire province, but some areas needs improvement. Such as: 1. Bilingual Host 2. Larger pool 3. Bigger restaurant 4. at least one air-condition restaurant 5. A timeline of all the activities in the hotel 6. More beach chairs and 7. Competitive money exchange rate 8. Mini fridge 9. English TV Channels. It's an oasis in oaxaca, so I hope the owner takes considerations of all the reviews here in trip advisors. Thank you

Would not recommend this resort to anyone, and would not stay here again. Not set up for Canadian travellers, only best for locals to go and afford. No adult area pools only and bad internet, no English speaking tv channels. Poor amenities with very bland food. Not worth the money spent compared to other resorts in Mexico

Extremely disappointed with the ratings of this hotel. I don't mind walking, but it was pretty extreme to go from the room to the restaurant if you were hungry (couldn't eat for 7hrs after I got there because restaurant is closed at certain hours), and hopefully you like hotdogs because they are in every dish! The ocean is unswimmable and it's quite the slope to get down to. The pool is very small. (The one on the 7th floor is nicer but very far away). The termites took over my room by the second day, and there was ZERO wifi (I even paid for international to try and get out but it wouldn't work) so I walked to WestJet office to book the rest of my stay (very expensive switch, but worth it!) To Las Brisas. Checkout took about 40min because there was 2 large families that apparently took all staff to accommodate. If you are ready for a more authentic experience and can speak Spanish, you may like this place. If you have ever stayed at Las Brisas and enjoyed your time there, you will wish you never booked here.

Air conditioning in room was not working. Front staff did nothing to rectify this. Only 2 bottles of water a day.
