Glorified Motel at Best

evamG8196KW (Alpharetta, Georgia) on May 02, 2024

This place is OLD!! They are charging “resort” prices for a glorified motel at best. To add insult to injury, charging a daily reset fee of $40 for amenities is a joke. And let me add there is a $25 parking fee for self parking in a shopping center like parking lot. Popcorn ceiling, old mattresses and a filthy tub is just a list of things wrong with this place. The ONLY good thing about this place is that it is situated on a very nice beach. They advertise resort because the central building is a highrise with interior rooms but everywhere else are 3 level motels. We stayed in building 3 for reference.

STAY AWAY! COULD NOT BE WORSE!

Brian L (Warsaw, Indiana) on May 01, 2024

Elevators didn’t work. Room was filthy. Ocean view room was a joke. Had to buy cold coffee from the gift shop. No view room is what it should have said. No balcony. 1000 places better on St Pete Beach. Looked forward to the weekend for weeks. So disappointing. My advice… RUN! So bad.

Lovely family stay at Sirata

BklynAce (Brooklyn, New York) on Apr 30, 2024

My family (two adults and a tween) just spent a lovely six nights at the Sirata Beach Resort. We were almost scared away by some of the negative reviews, but am glad that we kept our reservation. The beach is beautiful and the grounds were well-maintained and very pretty. There are Adirondack chairs and hammocks scattered throughout the property. The staff — down to the guys at the beach chair shack — were friendly and helpful. The property definitely shows signs of age — and it’s a three-star, family beach resort, not a luxury property. The carpet in the hallways had some stains, our bathtub had rust stains, and the sink had a slow drain. But none of this affected our vacation in a meaningful way. Our double-queen, oceanfront suite (in building 1) was spacious and comfortable. Our view of the beach/ocean was spectacular. We spent a lot of time enjoying the view from our balcony. Our kid loved the pools, and was thrilled by the boogie boards provided for the beach. A word of advice: book directly with the hotel and not through a third party. Although I booked online, I called the reservation line a couple of times and received fantastic customer service. The agents and manager are local and know the hotel. They answered questions about renovations, construction, views, condition of the hotel, etc., honestly and thoroughly. When I saw a lower rate on their site after I booked, I called and they happily honored it. When the room type I had booked unexpectedly became unavailable, they called and offered me an upgrade. They absolutely boosted my confidence in the decision to stay there. (And when we were checking in, another guest was trying to resolve a booking issue and was limited by having booked through a third party.) Definitely review the website and be familiar with the fees. The resort fee is a little high for how little it covers, but the resort is transparent about what is and is not covered. (Notably, parking and beach chairs are not covered.)

Fantastic Beach Vibe!

maureenc07 (Hackettstown, New Jersey) on Apr 29, 2024

We only went for one night because we were staying on the East Coast for the week, but it did not disappoint! Is the resort a little older, sure... but it was clean, fun, beach was picture perfect, food was amazing! I can't say enough about the bartenders and staff! We were there on Tuesday, April 16th. We hung out at Rumrunners Bar and listened to Daniel Childs sing at night. Incredible talent! We would come back again in a heartbeat! But next time, we'll stay a little longer.. ! Fantastic!

Strata Beach Resort

rpalandro (Folsom, Pennsylvania) on Apr 28, 2024

The staff were excellent, willing to help and very pleasant. We were not told that the Compass Cafe was closed either while making reservations or when we checked in. Rum runners and Harry’s had good food and drinks but it was what I consider bar food but not a restaurant for dining which made our stay a little inconvenient since we had to go off property to have a decent dinner. The room was clean and the view was fantastic, the furnature in the room was worn and very beat up especially the sleeper sofa in the living room area. It was so stained and worn that the cushion allowed the bed frame underneath to penetrate and cause an uncomfortable sitting experience. The track to the balcony sliding doors were very worn and un-lubercated that it made it very difficult to open or close. There was no where to sit comfortably and have a in room dinner, I recommend placing a small table with two chairs in the living area to make in room dining a little more comfortable .The tub had a soft spot on the base that felt like I was going to fall thru and made it difficult to enter and exit and should have a hand rail.
