This hotel has an excellent location inside Vancouver Airport so all you need to do is get up in the morning and walk to the terminal. The rooms are beautiful and the views of the planes are entertaining. They have a nice swimming pool, exercise room, sauna and steam room which is a relaxing way to spend some time. The only draw back is that there was only one restaurant open which you can walk to for dinner unless you want to eat in the over priced hotel one. The bar also served food and had entertainment so this might be another option.

What a fabulous and stress-free hotel night to start off our vacation right! My husband and I chose to stay overnight at the Fairmont hotel right in the YVR terminal since we had a very early morning flight the next day. Rather than waking up extra early and rushing off to the airport and having the hassle of parking, etc., staying overnight at the Fairmont YVR was hassle free and extremely comfortable! Check-in was a breeze as we received our key from the Fairmont concierge rep who was available in the terminal just at the entry to go up to the hotel lobby. What a pleasant young man to greet us in the terminal! We were given a wonderful room on the 10th floor with a view of the runways (and gorgeous mountains in the distance!). We were also pleasantly surprised with a personal card in our room from the General Manager, Patrick Gosselin, welcoming us and congratulating us on our wedding anniversary (which we were celebrating on this trip) along with some decadent chocolate covered strawberries. A lovely personal touch indeed! The room was spacious, elegant, clean, comfortable and very quiet. The bedding and amenities were all fantastic too. Everything from check-in to check-out was seamless with staff who were friendly and professional. We enjoyed every moment of our stay and will certainly choose to stay at the Fairmont YVR hotel again! We also dined in the lobby lounge which was superb and I’ll review in a separate review.

    Very comfortable but very expensive

The only room available was on the gold floor at a cost of $440. That is too much to pay at an airport hotel. But the room was very comfortable and the view was stunning. The restaurant served a mediocre dinner. The prosciutto was not thinly sliced and sparse. Two pieces were accompanied by a huge plate of burrata and tired melon. The risotto featured more cheese than rice.

    Love the Fairmont

Absolutely love this hotel. Immaculate, friendly staff, amazing facilities. I usually stay on the Gold floor, but since was delayed and arrived at midnight, I figured it wasn’t worth it (flying out early morning). The Fairmont still found a way to add personal touches. Bedding amazing, bathrobes, tub in room, view of the runway! Sold!

    Wow! Didn't see that coming

Our party had to overnight on our way to Port Hardy. This hotel was recommended since it minimized travel to and from the airport for our transfer. I understand we got a special company rate so we paid CA$ 247 ish I believe. This was a quality place. Everything is really well done. The room is outfitted really well. Lots of travertine and the like. It isn't modern boutique but it is really classy. The restaurant gives the impression you shouldn't rock up in sweats but we were having breakfast only so I guess it was OK. Lovely full breakfast. Not sure what the public rate is but this was so worth the stay.
