Pricey camp, clean and charming, but still camp

Sibling trip in a partial lake view, two double bed suite with sitting area. Upon entering we very much felt like we were at a camp we never went to as children. The room was clean but dated and worn. We expected as much from the reviews but still were a bit surprised with some of the decor given the price. Cosmetic fixes would do wonders - new interior doors and handles, update the couches that are very much stained, etc. I also would expect robes and slippers from the Fairmont but were in no such luck. The lighting in the bathroom is poor. The hairdryer barely worked. There was an A/C unit in our room, but we didn't need it given the temperature. Our stay overall was great, once we got past the condition of the accommodations. The lodge was charming and staff were friendly and helpful. The food was good, drinks were great. The grounds are really what you're paying for, they are beautiful and it makes it easy to get into nature without even driving.

We’ve had such great service from the all staff at JPL. I strongly recommend sitting by the fire of The Great Hall and enjoying a romantic diner. Thank you to Maheep for the memorable diner and service!

I laughed when I just looked at the reviews of the Jasper Park Lodge and found one written by someone who stayed in the same unit as ours: 370. He hated it. Well, no wonder. Our reservation says the room comes with outdoor patio. If you call a concrete step on the edge of the road a patio, then all would be well. I asked why we didn’t have an outdoor patio, and the response I got was that they would deliver patio furniture to our unit... that was a LOL moment as there is no where to put patio furniture and of course it never arrived. But the worst thing about the room is that the walls are paper thin. The first two nights there was a baby crying throughout the night in the next door room. I checked with the front desk and they said the family was leaving so we expected one quiet night. I don’t know what the hotel was thinking, but there are now two couples in that room. Just listening in on their conversation about adoption... seriously it is after 11 pm with no hope of a good nights sleep. There were many other small things that were irritating... we stay in lots of Fairmont’s and have never had such an unpleasant experience. To be fair, the hotel offered us some compensation, and quickly brought the supplies that were missing and tried, unsuccessfully to deal with the broken bed lamp. Jasper itself, the hiking and the food at the hotel are all great. Staff are all very pleasant. But the negatives outweigh the positives. And to be honest... the thing that annoys me the most is we paid for two rooms - one for my husband and me and one for my son and his girlfriend. As they arrived much later than us, I was keen to know which room they would be in: the hotel refused to tell me and then gave them an upgraded room! Not a good strategy - look after the person who is paying I say.

    One word: Idyllic

We just came back from the most idyllic stay at JPL to celebrate our first wedding anniversary, Sept 20-22. Upon arrival, our temperature was checked and we were asked the typical COVID questions. We were also given a PPE Welcome Kit including hand sanitizer, masks and other items. We booked a Lakeview Cabin and couldn't have been happier with our accommodations. En route to the resort, the wildfire smoke from the US was minimally still in the air. Being asthmatic, I sent a request pre-arrival for an air purifier for our room and it had been set-up in advance (thank you!). We felt safe with outdoor access to our room, combined with all the measures put in place at the resort. Are things different with COVID? Certainty, but JPL has gone above and beyond to keep things moving seamlessly without much disruption to the experience. It was so relaxing to enjoy a glass of wine, or our room service breakfast (note: currently not served on dishware, but packaged in to-go containers) and the view of Lake Beauvert from the comfortable chairs outside our cabin! There's so much to see and do on the resort alone that we never left. We took advantage of the pool (they are currently limiting capacity but was never an issue during our stay), spa, golf course, bike amenity, in-room dining and dinner at the Great Hall during our stay. Staff went above and beyond in every interaction - shoutout to Franc and Francois at the front desk, the team monitoring and answering questions via text (love that Fairmont typically offers this), Bailey and Nicole in the spa, and Carlos at the Great Hall. We were sad to leave but know we'll be back again one day!

2nd time visiting the Jasper Park Lodge. Lots of amenities on site. Enjoyed kayaking on the Lake. Staff are very accommodating. Stayed in a junior suite and it was adequate space for 3 adults and 2 kids. Due to Covid capacity of the pool is limited.
