Stay somewhere else

Michelle S on Apr 29, 2024

Booked a non smoking king room. Was told there weren't any available but we could upgrade for a fee for a corner non smoking king room. The "corner" faced a parking garage. The room was next to 3rd street stage on Fremont so it was loud all the time. The bathroom sink drain smelled every time we turned the water on. Zero water pressue in the shower. They have the shower door that is open on one side so water was on the floor every time we showered. The pool: You must have your room key to get in the gate. Is located street level. (horrible planning) Has a cement/concrete wall that faces the street. Has a flimsy black slotted fence that faces the entrance of the hotel. (no privacy) Has 8 lounge chairs. Has bathrooms outside of the pool area. Which the homeless were using. No security or anyone from the hotel in the pool area While we were there 2 young women appeared with 2 small kids with arm floaties on the other side of the fence. They started asking everyone if one of us could open the gate for them as they had left their room key in their room. We all refused and told them to go get a room key from the front desk. Even told them that they would need it to get back in their room. Well that did not go over well with them. They proceeded to push one of the kids through the slots on the fence. The fence is flimsy and anyone can bend the slots. So the kid was now in the pool area and was told by them to open the gate for them to come in. This is when the racial slurs and body shaming started being thrown around by them to the actual hotel guests. They said we didn't own the pool and why wanted to know why did it matter to us if they were there. Lots of yelling. Security was called. They left with them and didn't come back. A guy walked by and said they had just got off the bus and do this all the time there!

Hidden costs

Basic hotel, room not cleaned in a week, very noisy, hidden charges for resort fees and security deposit, still waiting on security deposit after 10 days.

annuel trip

beerclassicrock (Tiffin, Ohio) on Apr 20, 2024

We visit Vegas every year, have never ventured a stay downtown, always thought it was kind of sketchy. However, our stay at the D was awesome!!! Got offered a cold draft beer at check in, tap right behind counter! Room was clean, affordable, especially loved the elevator system, there is a bank of elevators, you input your floor on a keypad, and it directs you to the appropriate elevator. You almost always had an elevator to yourself, and never had to wait, very secure!!!i will say, we heard other reviews mostly mention the noise from Fremont Street at night, and I must say, that is correct, our first night didn't get much sleep, music goes on till 230 or so in the morning, and its loud. But......, after we got used to it, wasn't an issue, and we were so tired after every day, didn't have an issue sleeping. I will say this, you can opt for a room upgrade at check in, which is about 25 a night, that puts your room on the opposite side of the building, away from the noise of Fremont street, if you like. The other nice thing, there is a McDonald s on site, for coffee and breakfast if you dont feel like sit down, also a nice coffee shop right off the elevators. casino is ok, fair share of slots. I would stay here again for sure.

Sorry Check-in and incompetent registration personnel

Sadieand on Apr 15, 2024

They say check-in is 3pm. NOPE, my room was not ready. All they could offer was a lower class room, not an upgrade. Finally got a notification my room was ready at 4:15pm. When I go pick up my room keys, I'm told I need to pay another $50 security deposit. The deck clerk said I would receive the $50 back on checkout. I get to my room and I see I am charged $248 for a $192 reservation, plus the additional $50. I go back to the registration and I'm told I have 2 reservations. I said that is incorrect and she said I would receive the additional security deposit of $50 back. The additional money for the $248 included the security deposit for my 2-night stay. On check out I get the original security deposit back but they won't refund the additional $50. I have had to file a credit card dispute and let them explain why the are holding my $50 hostage. Overall the hotel is awful. It's loud and the housekeeper doesn't empty your trash cans when they do finally clean.

Very unsatisfactory

Darlene Y (Kingman, Arizona) on Apr 12, 2024

I had a reservation. They asked if I wanted an upgrade. I told them yes. Then was told I would receive a text. At 5pm when we returned still no text. I went over to front desk. All they could do at that time is give me a lower room. I then explained not by canopy. Guess what!! Right above canopy! I understand it’s Fremont. Yet really loud, and I was on 32 floor. How come when I stayed on 19 floor in the past, it was quiet. Call and asked for a email of my receipt and room charges. Told a different price on phone by Giovani. Also, had given Monica a $20 tip before all this on Tuesday. Never again D!! Very poor management skills.
