    Great grounds food and drink not!

    We went last week for 5 nights 6 days. Got there on a Thursday and on our arrival we tried to lock in our reservations for the restaurants. We could never get into the stake house and if we didnt create a stink we would never get in the Italian restaurant which the food was nothing to rave about. We returned the fettuccini alfredo because there wasnt any sauce at all on it and portions so small. The Hibachi restaurant was below par. NO Ichiban and NO sake bombs. Even though its all inclusive I still paid for wine at 2 different restaurants. Also no prosecco which was annoying. The pool bar has last call at 5:30 so by 6 your done. There are on clubs or bars on the property so after the show the only thing to do is to wait for the dj to play music until midnight. The rooms are comfy but they are older but that was not a bother. The employees there were super nice and Jay gave us a gift when we left. Love the customer services in Mexico they are wonderful.

    This hotel was excellent, I would revisit again. Our concierge Trudy Ann Morgan was wonderful, she treated us with care and was there when we requested service. She is someone you can rely on, so I would recommend her to take care of everything for anyone that wishes to visit soon. I felt like I was at home and with family, very friendly and respectful staff. Even though, the hotel need more Jamaican cooking style when it comes on to the restaurant choices. In addition, the hotel smells good, the rooms are clean and comfortable. Also the truck at the beach side is a must visit, we stuff our face with the delicious jerk chicken, fries and patty, mmmm! Thank you for the wonderful service Trudy-Ann and your hospitality Iberostar. I will be coming back very soon.

    Immigration was painful but we got through quicker because we had to surrender fruit in the second line. The “red line” was empty compared to the “green line”. Bring and declare a sacrificial banana. There’s about 6 red lines, pick the shortest one. Taxis are easy (red plate government licensed are friendly and safe as posted), $40 to Rose Hall. No credit cards, bring lots of cash for tips. The ATM at the hotel distributes USDs, after a $6 fee. No microwave. No coffeemaker. A coffeemaker was delivered promptly upon request. The minibar contains 1 Coke, 1 Coke Zero, 1 Sprite and 2 Red Stripes. Red Stripe is the only beer available on the property. I’m not a beer guy (I do enjoy Kölsch) but in my opinion if you’re going to offer a single beer red stripe is an aweful option. Most of the liquor is bottom shelf. Vodka options vary among the bars. Smirnoff abounds but I’ve found Stoli, Sky, and the lobby bar has Belvedere although you’ll be presented with an up-charge. There’s pretty aweful reggae music blared all day long at the pool. It’s inescapable at the suites, but a short stroll down to the closed Rose Hall Beach Hotel (where we booked, but right now you’ll find yourself upgraded to the suites) will reward you with a beach all to yourself and a stack of recliners to help yourself to. You won’t have drink service but if you bring your own large straw cup you can minimize trips back to the pool bar. We considered a $120/night upgrade to the adults-only, quieter Grand, but after walking through it we discovered It to also be Rasta infused. It’s not children that ruin the suites (no Marco Polo yet) it’s the blaring reggae. Typical to your Mexico/Caribbean resort, recliner chairs are staked out early. We found a few available yesterday afternoon on arrival day, after Covid I doubt you will. I’m writing this at 0600 and could have any chairs I want but can’t bring myself to care. I would guess that if you told the staff you needed a chair they might find you one. Despite other reviews honestly the food is at best “edible”. The buffet is not good, about 20% the size of Iberostar Cancun. Maybe smaller. We were offered no reservations available the first night and 9:30 p.m. another night. This is during Covid while it’s NOT crowded. On the second night we found the specialty restaurants to be about half full, leaving us wondering why we were refused reservations. Quality at these is far superior, although selection is equally weak to the buffet. We ordered supplemental food via room service. Delivery took an hour and the pizza showed up with “we ran out of pepperoni”.. Confidence is high “we will run out of” something else before we leave. Of course you will be offered a time share sales pitch. Decline promptly and sternly. We inquired regarding an intertube river float trip but declined because, although the river is only 20 minutes away, the transportation picks you up at the first stop, then picks up passengers at several other hotels, then is required by law to go to a sign in location an hour away, then comes back to the nearby river, then must take you back to the sign in location, THEN returns you to the hotel. If you miss the first van back you will wait 2 hours 15 minutes for the next van. We instead hired the cab driver from the airport to take us to the side-by-side ATV tour (called ‘buggy’s’) for an extra $100. Cash only. The driver has been very accommodating and friendly. The Michael Jackson show on Saturday night is worth taking a nap and getting up for. The surf breaks oddly far from the shore but the water is beautiful. As others have posted, the people are wonderful. Eye contact and tips are important. There weren’t any during the day yesterday but mosquitos are visiting me early today. We forgot Off but they are mild and unaggressive. Mask enforcement is serious which we welcomed. Hand sanitizer is pushed to a bit of an extreme. Making the best of it isn’t too hard to talk yourself into because the people are so awesome. If this is your first all-inclusive you might be impressed. If not, expect to be underwhelmed. Despite the warm welcome we will not be back.

    We have been meaning to put up a 5 star review for weeks so finally got to doing it!! So there was 9 of us on this family/friends vacation we just wanted to get away from reality for a while and let the kids and adults have fun during the pandemic. We can’t say enough about our first trip to Jamaica and Iberostar Rose Hall Suites upon arrival to our departure the staff were amazing so welcoming and always smiling they made our stay most memorable and will be the main reason we go back we extended our trip as we didn’t want to leave!! It’s hard for me to remember all the names of the wonderful entertainment staff and the kids club crew ( they were obviously restricted but always had something planned for the kids to do arts and crafts, tie dye on the beach) big shout out to CC Susie Q (my Jerusalem’s dance partner!!) Peaches Kevin Hart 2.0 Comoy Cadene Anthony Monique Shanique (Sorry for the names I’m missing thank you all) All the bartenders, waitresses, girls in coffee shop, food truck staff who always kept our kids supplied with the best French fries! Shout out the water aerobics instructors that was the extent of my working out !! But other people in my party loved the gym and they had spinning classes. While we were there we got to experience New Year’s Eve party which was amazing the staff and crew went to so much effort to set up the party and also we had dinner on the beach. The fire works were fantastic! The hotel followed all protocols for covid rules, we all felt safer here then in our home state nyc... The restaurants were great you have to book in advance, but probably one of the best all inclusive hotels we have stayed in terms of the food! Our favorite was the Italian and Asian! We had a beautiful room ocean front would definitely recommend doing that it was amazing waking up to that view every morning and having wine on the balcony in the evening. The manager Santos was also so accommodating and helped us with any requests and even had life guards sent over to the kids area that was closed so that our kids could play in the waterpark, thank you ! We can’t wait to plan our trip back next year!! Thank you Iberostar! The Ryan Family ??

    Wedding of my DREAMS

    My husband and I got married at this beautiful resort on February 20th! We had 20 guests and it was absolutely perfect. The wedding coordinators Catherine and Belinda made this whole process a breeze. The ceremony was held on the “fit & fun” sky deck, next was cocktail hour with the steel pans band, and then the reception was on the beach along with the bonfire / s’mores bar. The DJ was incredible, he kept all of us on the dance floor. We added a fire dancer at the last minute and we’re so glad we did! Everyone loved the performance! We ended the night with the sky lanterns which was beautiful. The wedding cake was delicious!! We didn’t finish it so they were able to freeze it and let us bring it home! At the end of the night, we came back to our room being spotless with a warm bath prepared and a gift on our bed. They also set up a romantic dinner for my husband and I which was so beautiful. Overall all the staff were welcoming and friendly. The resort itself was clean and well kept. Dean at the main lobby bar was excellent! The covid testing process was fast, easy and stress free. We all had such a great time. We got engaged in Jamaica in August 2019 and I knew we had to go back for our wedding. Jamaica will always have a piece of my heart. I’m so happy everything turned out so well. I would go back in a heartbeat!
