    Such a great family vaca!

    Everyone at Villa del Palmar went out of their way to make our family vacation so much fun! Our waiter Espinoza greeted us with a smile every morning. He remembered all of our names and drink orders, and continued to check on us throughout the day, just to make sure we were taken care of. Alex at the pool, kept us continuously stocked with yummy drinks and taught us the coolest party trick! He even surprised our 19 person family photo shoot with fresh chocolate covered strawberries! Carolina with her huge smile and Spanish lessons. Rodolfo who always found us the perfect spot on the beach. The kids had so much fun watching the nightly shows put on by, their favorites Elizabeth and Luis. (I didn’t get the choreographer’s name....but what a great job she does!) They put in so much time to make our trip so incredibly memorable. The rooms were very clean and the pool view was gorgeous! Thank you guys for the awesome memories!

    This is has resort has the perfect view and the friendliest and most attentive staff. I would like to give special shout out to Nico who was our waiter by the pool for a couple days. He was friendly, quick and professional. Night restaurants could have been quicker and had more vegetarian options. That is my only complaint.

    The place is not fit for humans to breathe. It is run down and with mildew and mold everywhere- they try to cover that up with heavy perfume that gives you a headache. The place was really nasty and made us feel sick. First, we were in building 3, then we moved twice. The third time they put us in building 1. I am not sure about building 2, but all three rooms in building 1 and 3 were horrendous. When we talked to management, they just shrugged and told us that "it floods all the time." Also, the hallways are carpeted. It is really gross. They also enticed us to do a timeshare presentation. When they asked us about our experience and we told them, they said, "that's what you get for not being an owner." That is just ridiculous. Why would anyone become an owner at this place. My backpack reeks of mold like the room we had, so did all of our clothes. We also got sick drinking their drinks. Even if you do not have the drink package and order a drink, it comes in a small plastic cup like you are at frat party. Also, when we turned on our air, it smelled like old cheese and we felt sick from the smell. Oh, and another thing. They called us one day and said that our room had a leak that was causing the people below to have some flooding. They used some sort of chemicals in one of the closets on the pipes and it made us feel really dizzy. I called to the manager and she told us they were not supposed to use those chemicals when someone was staying there! Great! What did i breathe? To make up for it, she sent tape and champagne. Sleep is pretty nonexistent between the smells, the noise (the bedrooms all have a window into the hallway) and the gross damp conditions. I am just confused on all the good reviews on here, it was completely awful for us!

    Nice relaxing vacation

    This is really a lovely resort, but having gone to the Villa del Palmar in Nuevo Vallarta, I was a bit disappointed. This resort is much older and the rooms (while nice) not quite as nice as the other. Our was great but many times blocked by huge cruise ships. Internet very seldom worked. One day, I couldn't get our room cleaned until 4 PM & another day they wanted to come in at 9 AM. I told them we were showering and they returned barely 15 minutes later. The drinks were very watered down. But the restaurants on the premises had great food. The nearby beach is not very good for swimming - step drops and strong tides. But the pool & hot tubs are fine - although there are times it is impossible to find a beach chair that hasn't been saved. My biggest complaint would be that to get from the hotel to the beach, restaurants, towel vendor there is a step decline, so you are always walking uphill or downhill or climbing stairs

    It's been 4 years since my boyfriend and I came back and it was like coming back to a second home. From the minute we walked in the door everyone ensured that we had everything we needed and that we were enjoying ourselves. We would love to give an extra special shout out to LUIS GARCIA, our pool concierge. From the second we met Luis, we knew that his role was so much more. Luis made us feel so welcome, like seeing an old friend, and I could tell that every guest he talked to felt the same way. We saw him maintain professionalism and a smile while being pulled in many directions that would have tested any person in his position. I wish we stayed longer because Luis is definitely someone we'd love to hang out with. Villa del Palmar, you have won the lottery with Luis!
