Surprised at how good the food was at this hotel restaurant!

Very conveniently located to our Marriott Cañon Villas. A limited menu but what we ordered was quite good: Dragon IPA draft beer (my favorite local Arizona brew), warm bread and soft butter, fantastic calamari, delicious tortilla soup bowl, the creamiest mac and cheese we have ever had, and a very nice grilled bourbon salmon. Our wait staff, Evone, was an absolute delight! Knowledgeably answered our questions, provided excellent service and was so helpful and pleasant!
Excellent Family Resort and a solid 4.5 Stars!

Had a 5-night/6-day stay here and we absolutely loved it (for our purposes). A family of 5 looking for some fun and easy access to Phoenix. I have status for Marriott and United and we love family luxury hotels. If the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess and the Four Seasons are Five-Star, then this place is 4.5 stars and for my purposes and the price point I would absolutely stay here again. Some cons are a limited selection of food at the restaurants and no room service and The food at the pool was bad. The wood on the furniture in the room is chipped and faded, tubs/ showers need grouting, no light options with the bathroom, no towel rack, no pen/pad, terrible coffee maker, etc. Room felt more Marriott than JW Marriott, and not what I would find at a Four Seasons/Fairmont. They didn't provide hot tubs due to low occupancy, but it was still disappointing and wouldn't happen at a Ritz or Four Seasons. Pros--CONNIE/NICK @ Stone Grill/CASEY bellman were fantastic, always multiple workers greeting you and helping. Great lunch at Meritage, great brunch/dinner at Stonegrill, and an excellent service and coffee at a real Starbucks in the hotel! The grounds were nicely maintained, the variety of pools made things fun-kids loved the lazy river/water slide. The outside temp was 66-70 when we were there, and I would say the pool was probably 80-82 (Griffin was warmest. It was warm, but not as warm as you’d find in a Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons. In addition to fantastic pools, the property had Pickleball/tennis courts onsite and our favorite part of the whole property, as well as a nature trail. It really made our morning to go out and be active with the kids before breakfast. As for the location, it was fine for our purposes--we wanted onsite activities and close access to nearby food. If you plan on going to Scottsdale proper frequently, this isn't for you. 2 rooms connected for 1/2 of what 1 room at Fairmont or Four Seasons made it well worth it and our choice in the future!
Christmas vacation, four nights stay

Stayed from Dec. 23-27, 2020 Three travelers. My sister in law booked us a large corner suite with the view of the lazy river in both the main bedroom and the sitting room. Both rooms had a large TV so my niece who stayed in the sitting room enjoyed her own shows to watch. The sleeper sofa was nothing special. It probably would have been better to get a cot. The room was huge for our purpose. It was clean but I won’t say spotless. The cleaning lady was very nice everytime we encounter her. People were very polite and pleasant. We had Christmas in stonegrill restaurant and the server was really nice. I had the avocado toast and it was great! Walking around the facility was great. We played some pingpong, my husband enjoyed the fitness room and the sauna. There are plenty to do in this hotel/resort. It’s not lacking of swim area. Best sleep for our travel. I will stay in this place again and highly recommend you visit.

Our family stayed here over Thanksgiving! We had just come from a sister 5 star hotel so we were not expecting as nice of a stay but we were wrong. We enjoyed this hotel more! The grounds are beautiful! There were many places to explore. We found a Secret Spot by the cactus garden area that had a great egg chair. We loved the daybeds that were place on top of water near the pool area. (Can you let us know what that is called and where we can purchase one for our home?) Thank you for honoring healthcare workers so that it was affordable for our families!!
This place is huge!

It was a 10 minute walk to our room from the desk, which I liked but if you are traveling with anyone not able to walk quickly I would ask for a room closer to the lobby. We enjoyed the spa the pools and the lazy river. Got an amazing massage in the spa and enjoyed the amenities in the spa area. Lots of spots for great pictures and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend. There is a shopping center across from the property, about a 5-10 min walk with some restaurants. We also ate on site. Food was decent, nothing spectacular.
