    Not worth the expense

I took advantage of the Alberta residents rate to try and have a COVID weekend get-a-way, hoping for a nice time relaxing in the hotel with good food and a movie after 2 days skiing. Well, that certainly did not happen! This property is majestic in it's location, but looks are deceptive, and the cost is not worth the horrible service. There was a loud hum in the room to the point I had to sleep with the TV on as white noise to drown out the mechanical hum. You would be more comfortable using sand paper than the tissues in the hotel. The movie list was the same as I can get on Netflix, but for $40 a movie. The room service menu was abysmal: salad, burger, turkey club, pizza, chicken fingers or spaghetti! Not at all the lovely meal I was hoping to have socially-distancing in my room after a day skiing. I had the turkey club and it was 2' of bread with 2 slices of deli turkey meat, 1 piece of bacon, wilted lettuce, and a mushy tomato on a plate. No side salad or fries, just a sandwich on a plate for $38 with a hotel-imposed 18% gratuity, regardless of service or quality. The food in the restaurant was not any better: overcooked duck, mushy carrots, mushrooms that somehow crunched when bitten into and could not be cut with a knife. The Willow Spa is usually a wonderful place to spend an afternoon, and the massage services were still very good but the price has not been adjusted to accommodate for the fact that most everything in the spa is closed due to COVID, so you still pay $300 for a body treatment/massage with an enforced 18% gratuity but you cannot enjoy the pool or hot tubs after the spa treatment. Sadly, this is the last time I will stay at the Springs. There is no value for the inflated cost that the hotel is charging. I expected to be pampered and have a luxurious weekend, instead I spent more money in 2 days than an entire week at a Caribbean resort would have cost, and came home frustrated and angry and not at all relaxed.

Very nice tour. We snowshoed along the river bank and through both wooded area and a valley. Harry, our guide, was very pleasant, attentive and knowledgeable of the region. He provided some interesting history of the hotel and mountains. Great excursion!

Terrific 4 night stay at the Banff Springs with top notch service from start to finish. Had a gatehouse suite which I’d recommend, even though it’s a bit of a walk from the main lobby and restaurants it’s a tad more private. Room was nice and somewhat recently renovated with a spacious washroom that had a double sink. All the staff were fantastic and mid week the hotel was not busy and we felt we had the entire place to ourselves. On resort activities were great - we did a private evening snowshoe walk with Marisa which was fantastic and included a campfire with s’mores and cocktails. Scenery is out of this world There are some service modifications due to COVID (housekeeping once every three days and rotating open restaurants), but the hotel does a great job with cleanliness and service given the situation.

    Great snowshoeing experience

We took advantage of the snowshoeing included in the resort fee today. Our guide was Harry and he did a great job of keeping us trekking but stopping here and there to tell us about the hotel and the woods we were trekking through. Highly recommend it!

    Just fantastic!

Incredible service and attention to detail. Fairmont Banff Springs excels in pleasing and making the most of their guests visit! From the minute you pull up to the hotel until the time you leave, the hotel staff make you feel welcome and served! We highly reccomend! The only thing we'd recommend is a few upgrades in the rooms, eg. the "whistling, creaky" air system that makes quite a lot of noise and gets irritating when trying to sleep.
