My boyfriend and I travelled 10 hours from Scotland to stay at the resort. The grounds were beautiful and we were visually impressed with what we saw around the reception etc when we arrived. A bellboy helped us to our room with our bags which was very nice, as were the majority of the staff we thought. However, when we arrived to our room, I was extremely disappointed with how dingy and dated it was, considering we had payed a fortune for months to get here. We struggled getting towels some days and the roof in the sink room was beginning to bow and leaking water. We brushed off the state of the room telling ourselves we wouldn’t be in it that often.. After a long journey to get to the hotel, we went to the buffet which we were incredibly disappointed with. The meat was a bit questionable in the steak house and buffet, and we believe a lot of the food such as cheese etc had been sitting out for a long time, and also had flies on a lot of it. Both myself and my boyfriend have been feeling ill the whole trip, and have had uncontrollable diarrhoea, feeling of weakness/ tiredness and found ourselves looking for ‘safer options’ to eat such as just bread some days.. Despite this and the vendors pestering you every second you’re relaxing on the beach, it was a decent holiday. Like I say, the resort is very scenic when walking around the little pond areas, which we enjoyed. We did an excursion to Saona island (booked cheaply through getyourguide online as the beach vendors were seriously trying to rip us off for the same trip). The island was lovely. Make sure you bring lots of dollars (in 1s if possible) for tipping. We really did not mind tipping those who were very attentive to us during our stay, but ended up tipping everyone to receive a bit better service at the bars etc. Went through our dollars very very quickly!

I love this resort especially because of its staff which is amazing. At this point I would like to highlight and give full credit to Raidon who has been working at the resort for long already (by the beach nowadays) and providing excellent customers services, great drinks, always supportive with everything. Do your best to keep him as your staff as he’s the real gem. I can confirm that as visiting this resort since approx. 2017. Cheers Ladislav (room 1723)
