Had the burger and seafood pasta at the Seaside Grill. Very delicious and our waiter Eleonet was very attentive and made sure we were taken care of. Pool was warm and drinks kept coming. Would definitely stay again at this Secrets location.

First time at this Secret's and hopefully not the last. Beautiful Resort with a Great Staff the take care of your every need. Juan waited us us at the members pool all week and was fantastic. The sunsets were unbelievable and grounds were impeccable. Tip, Don't be afraid to use Uber it's a third of the cost of a taxi and we had no problems.

Overall we have a very good experience. The staff in general go out of their way to make you feel welcomed. The welcome was really nice, they offered us beverages and food from the beggining, we did have to wait for check in, but since we already had Margaritas in our hands it was not that bad. We had a free room upgrade which was really nice. We did have a couple of issues during our stay, one is that their reservation system for the restaurants do not work, they did nos respect our reservation. The other issue was that the sheets of one of the beads had a stain (either blood or nail polish, it was red) that look fresh and was not from us, so we had to call housekeeping so they will change it. In general the hotel is very clean, but this experienced really undermined the rest. I also want to point out that it is advertised as a "Beach resort" but in reality you do NOT have access to the beach, it is open sea so you cannot really swimm, also, they had a hurricane last month and the stairs to the beach are inhabilitated, so, you don't really get the beach, and that was a dissapointment. We travel a group of 10 friends and had a blast, but it is very romantic for a couple's gethaway. They also try to be a sustainable hotel, which is very nice, they avoid plastic and straws. Yoga class was fun. Food in Portofino specifically is amazing. The staff is following the safe distance measurement to the point, but none of the guest were wearing face masks. I will come back for the service and food was good, but as I mentioned, if you really want to enjoy the beach and the ocean it is better to look for another option.

    Honeymoon Review

We checked in on September 27th for our Honeymoon. We upgraded to preferred club when we arrived. We were checked in to a beautiful suite in the first building. Unfortunately, we had to call the front desk to have them send someone out to check why our water in the jacuzzi and in our bathtub was bright yellow. The repair man checked both said they were both fixed and left. The next day we went to run the water again and both of them were still disgusting yellow. We asked to switch rooms and were told that they could not give us a comparable room and had no availability for later this week. But when we went to the lobby 25 minutes later they had magically found one on the top floor. We let them know we had not received special turn down service for our honeymoon and we were very disappointed. We tried to shake this off and go about our day. We booked our honeymoon special breakfast with the concierge and were reassured that they would transfer the special breakfast to our new room number as soon as it was ready for us. Fast forward to this morning, we are waiting for our 9:30 breakfast, around 9:45 we call to ask room service where it is and they don’t have our special breakfast and after speaking to the front desk they had sent it to the wrong room. For a AAA four diamond resort, this has been terrible service so far. Honestly regretting choosing this resort for our honeymoon we feel as if we have had to double check every single thing we have asked for and we are deeply disappointed by our stay so far. We will update if and when we decide to finish our stay here.

Stunning property, staff is working incredibly hard for you to have a great time. Our room is gorgeous, and the included room service is a major perk. Food is on par with typical all-inclusive; just OK, and drinks are weak. **Unlike other resorts in the area, masks are optional (read, not worn at all) for guests.** if this at all makes you uncomfortable, skip for now. The JW Marriott next door does require them in public spaces. A few callouts: - Don’t book excursions through the hotel- they’ll overcharge you for the same excursion, same company, that you can book directly for at least $50 off. Our side by side ATV from Amstar through cactus tours was $290; the same tour on cactus tours online (with transportation) is $232 - Hibachi reservations are day of. Recommend going at 8:30/8:45 and waiting with coffee before concierge opens at 9 in order to get a reservation you’re happy with (or at all). -No beach access; steps are literally washed away from a storm, and rough riptides mean no swimming at this time
