Overall : B As advertised this property is very small and quiet but knowing all of that it was overall one of our more disappointing Sandals experience. Note that the Ochi property is next door and is large and lively if you prefer that and would like to visit Ocho Rios. Guests from RP are allowed to visit Ochi but not the other way around. Travel : B The ride to and from the airport is long - it took us almost 2 hours each way - and the van was not comfortable Beach/Pool : B- There is only one very small pool in the property and there is no swim-up bar and gets impossible to enter when guests start using floating stuff. The beach area is private not big but this being a small resort you should not have issues getting a chair. There is not a long stretch of beach if that is what you are looking for. The pool and beach area are kept clean. Again, if you are looking for pool/beach activities, music, etc. this is not the resort for you and you could go spend the day at the Ochi property. Room : B Room was average with the normal Sandals amenities, bed was comfortable, and furniture was older - again if you are looking for a modern room this is not the resort for you. Although all rooms are advertised as oceanfront not all of them have ocean views. Recommend south side [less busy] and higher floors [view]. Food : C+ Being small you would think that the food would be much better than what was provided – food was subpar. The choices are very limited. The breakfast buffets had the same food everyday with only a few exceptions. The lunch buffets were uninspiring and bland. This is one area they need to improve the most (in our opinion) and pay more attention to the quality because they can as the guest count is small. There is not one cappuccino machine on the property and if you prefer non-brewed coffee you will be disappointed – not sure why Sandals cannot provide this service in all their properties with the amount they charge. Food : B [Ochi] As stated earlier you can visit the Ochi property and you have a wide variety of choices and the quality of food was better. We had dinner at Ochi most of our stay including a beach party. Service : B This is an all butler property but for us it was a waste of money – yes, the service was good, but the butlers did not provide any service that an able-bodied person is able to perform. There were some personal touches – decorating our bed one night with flowers and gaudy lights – but not something that would make us book butler suites anytime in the future. Also, you could definitely see favoritism shown to some guests and we do think it is the change in Sandals policy of allowing butlers to receive tips. Tips are not mandatory, but it felt like it was expected. We think the service staff were more helpful than the butlers and deserve the tips more. Service at restaurants and the beach area was sometimes overwhelming with the guest numbers being low it felt like many time they were hovering over you. But most of the staff always had a smile on their face and were very helpful. We were lucky to make this trip just before all the restrictions were put in place and although a bit disappointing, it was Jamaica, it was all inclusive, there was the ocean, it was relaxing!

We have visited the Royal Plantation for the last two years and planned to return this May. Unfortunately due to the COVID 19 virus this had to be cancelled. We are obviously very disappointed as we were so looking forward to returning and meeting everyone again. Having read previous negative comments I felt I had to write as we have found everyone in Sandals (especially Lisa in their London office) very approachable helpful and polite and we have just received a full refund for our holiday with out any problem. We are now looking forward to rebooking our holiday as soon as the current situation improves.

    15th spectacular visit!

This resort has truly become our home away from home. The staff is like family. You will want for nothing. They have never uttered the word "no" in response to a request. They all go out of their way every minute of every day to make sure your stay is perfect. A small relaxing, quiet, resort with phenomenal food and the friendliest, most accomodating staff of any resort anywhere.

We have stayed at SRP on 7 occasions. We got engaged and married at this resort. We have also been to several other Sandals properties and this is, for sure, our favorite. We had to cancel our annual Spring trip to SRP due to COVID-19. We are anxiously awaiting our fall trip in September and hope this is all over by then. In the mean time we wanted to write a review about all of our favorite things about SRP. There are so many to name that we are bound to miss some things but we will do our best. Here are the things we love about SPR: THE STAFF!!! The staff treats us like family every time we are there. They remember us and what we like. We have laughed, cried and loved with several of them throughout the years. We love the staff here and we hope they are ALL healthy and happy during this tough time. We hope to see them all again in the fall! THE SPA! This is my wife's favorite and the way she relaxes! The views! The water is amazing from the rooms and pool deck! The mountain views are amazing on the entrance side of the resort! The flora and fauna are amazing everywhere! Kelly the cat-she is sweet and ornery! The peacocks! The private beaches with butler service for drinks and food! Evenings at Royal Grill, eating next to the ocean waves and feeling the breeze The crickets and frogs at night! We love those sounds Evening entertainment-particularly Rojah and the Rush band and the Steel Drum Band Yoga and meditation with Maji on the peer Dinners at Le Papillon with amazing food and service The FOOD! From Breakfast to Dinner and everything in between it is all amazing! The peacefulness of the resort! We love how laid back it is! The big tree on the west end of the pool deck...he is like an old friend! Sitting in the hot tub, particularly in the evenings when the sun is setting and the frogs and crickets start to chirp The lizards and how they do "pushups" and puff our their necks. Breakfasts at the Terrace, with views of the beautiful Caribbean Sea and watching the fishing boats motor by Swimming off the west beach Snorkeling around the middle pier and seeing all the colorful fish Candle light dinners in the gazebo Smoking a cigar with a glass of wine while watching the fish swim in the lit water at night Learning about Jamaica on the beautiful drive to the resort The pub with the friendly staff and free flowing drinks The egg station along with buffet breakfasts Floating in the pool with strong drink and a great book All the friends we have met there over the years (George and Judy, Eric and Candice, Kenda and Michael and more) The fresh fruit and the nesberry tree The bubble baths that the butlers prepare for us while we are gone The towel animals The cheese plates High tea, overlooking the ocean Lobster Thermidor Coconut shrimp and Jerk chicken for lunch The piano man in the pub Swimming in the pool at night How pretty the resort is at night The fountain at the entrance The drawing room (what used to be the red room) The flower arrangement just outside the lobby The tile in the lobby and on the stair case The way the resort has retained its plantation look Falling into the great bed with clean sheets every night after a fun filled day at SRP and sleeping soundly in the cool air conditioning Finally..... THE STAFF! The people really do, make this resort! We love you guys! Stay safe and healthy! See you soon! Love, Tim and Leigh from Texas

Our first visit to SRP but it certainly won't be our last! We were there 10-20 Mar but with flight cancellations due to COVID-19 we left on the 22nd. The hotel was wonderful, very small with just 74 rooms. Our two butlers Kadisha and Robert were amazing as were all the staff, a special mention to Marlisa for sorting out alternative flights, nothing was too difficult despite the situation. We had a room in the East wing Suite 111 which was ideal for our requirements, clean, quiet and comfortable furnishings, lovely return each afternoon to discover what suprise was waiting for us. We trust you are all safe and hope to see you all again next year
