Nice Tourist Hotel in Popular Area Near the Beach
J3440RKfredm (Baltimore, Maryland) on Apr 11, 2024
The hotel is a bit dated and in the process of renovation. The renovation noises were beyond loud during my stay. Everyone who worked at the hotel were friendly and professional. The rooms were a bit small, and the beds had tape on the headboards. The balcony of the room had an amazing view of the beach and ocean. Breakfast was on the gourmet level. The frittata; the garlic chicken with mochi waffle--all was delicious and bountiful along with fresh poured Kona coffee. The drinks at the bar were on the light side with hardly any alcohol and one of the worst mai tais in Hawaii. The beach chairs were great to take across the street to the beach. The pool is small and nothing special. The hotel is located in an area full of restaurants and bars. I am hoping the renovations bring the hotel into the 2020s for now is like a hotel stuck in 1980. I would return after the renovations and try again.
Good value for money

My husband and I visited this lovely property for 10 nights in March for my 60th Birthday and our 36th Wedding Anniversary. It was our first stay at The Sheraton Princess Kaiulani having travelled to Hawaii 4 times previously staying at other properties. Our room had be renovated recently and was very comfortable and the housekeeping staff very lovely and efficient. The pool staff were a little distant and did not seem to be concerned about the needs of people around the pool area. The food was always lovely at the hotel and plenty of it. I was a little disappointed that we were not advised that renovations were happening as you do not expect to spend your holiday lying beside the pool listening to drilling. The most disappointing thing about our stay was our room (25th Floor)was facing the International Market Place and the noise at night was terrible as the place partied until 2am every night. Even with our door closed this could be heard and if you are a light sleeper forget getting to sleep until after this finishes. This was the general complaint from all the people we met. Value for money The Sheraton Princess Kaiulani is very much worth it if you can tolerate noise.
