This was our 8th visit to Cocobay since 2009 so obviously we like it ! There are lots reviews describing the amazing views, good food and boutique vibe. However the stand out for us though has always been the incredibly friendly staff who have become like family to us over the years. This visit was somewhat unique in that we ended up staying for 5 weeks instead of the intended 10 days. My husband suffered a very serious medical event five days into our stay. He spent 5 nights in intensive care and we were told he couldn't fly for a month. The response from Cocobay was nothing short of outstanding. An Ambulance was called and whilst we waited several of the day staff provided immediate caring support to us whilst we waited. Kemlin and Janine were so helpful in extending our stay. The staff gave me so much care , support and compassion whilst my husband was in hospital and were overjoyed when he was discharged. My husband was cooked special meals to help his recovery and Melinda amazingly managed to get hold of a guitar so he could check he could still play. That meant so much !! Our deepest thanks to ( in no particular order) Shavel,Denise,Vincia, Saskia, Sacha,Kerry Jermaine, Larissa, Cheryl ,Mr Gore, Goldine, Kemlin, Janine, Kathleen, ONeil, Melissa , Melinda , Sandy H. Sandy W, Lisa, Derrick, Julie, Danica, the chefs, room attendants, gardeners, front desk staff and everyone else whose name I've missed but you were all fantastic

Honestly was the most amazing honeymoon we had the best time & will definitely be back! the staff were all very friendly & welcoming, special shoutout to tequila Lisa & Derek on the bar, their cocktails were amazing!!! Mel the restaurant manager was lovely & nothing was ever too much trouble! Dining: the food was really good and there was often a lot of choice especially if like me and fussy. Always a pasta & soup available at dinner & a lot of choice desserts were to die for! Breakfast always had a different special, waffles & French toast were firm favourites! - the only slight downfall was pre booked slots for lunch & dinner, which we had no problem with but often we’d arrive at our allocated time to find other people had already been seated earlier & we had to wait - not the end of the world but slightly annoying. Rooms: the rooms were absolutely lovely, so rustic and cute, modern enough but keeping that island feel! The air con is a godsend and the balconies & hammock became a firm favourite. The maids were lovely & every time our room was spotless! We loved the fact there was no tv, really made us disconnect! Good WiFi in the rooms!! - we had just a standard garden cottage & would definitely have it again! General amenities; both the pools were lovely and we had no issues getting a sunbeds, no need to get up ridiculously early and put towels or anything out. Often servers come round with drinks & ice cream which was a nice touch. We did the sunset cabana & floating sushi in the black rock pool, would definitely recommend both of these as there were a nice addition to our honeymoon and made it extra special! They have an onsite coffee shop which is amazing, can get all different types of coffee & some cookies etc all free of charge. A nice way to start the morning, there was also free books you could read which was a lovely touch. Another bonus was the water sports, we were able to go Paddleboarding, kayaking & snorkelling all free of charge! The hotel helped us book outside excursions and taxis, we did the trip with hotel to St John’s Harbour which was enjoyable & such an easy trip. The only slight criticism came as we were leaving, due to check out being early & our flight not leaving till late afternoon we didn’t want to spend a whole day sat in the bar. We spoke to the hotel who explained we could book a half an hour slot in a courtesy room, which was perfect for us. The problem came when we went to get showered before our taxi, the reception staff didn’t know which room was being used and left us sat for 25 minutes before the room was available. Once we arrived at the room maintenance staff were in the room, so we had to wait 5 minutes for them to finish up, not a huge deal just an annoyance. Ten minutes into our allocated half an hour we were told we had to leave as another couple were waiting to use it, we were a little frustrated given it hadn’t been our error that had caused the delay, no real apology was given for the error. Overall though we had a lovely trip & these minor set backs wouldn’t put us off returning.
