Only travel using Hyatt

Regardless of what brand we stay with the Hyatt we’ve always received good customer service and a comfortable stay we will never go with anything other than the Hyatt Brand. It’s even more worthwhile getting a World of HYatt credit card for travel purposes.
Couples’ Weekend
michellelooy (Red Deer, Canada) on May 11, 2022
My husband and I stayed here May 6-8, 2022 for a long overdue couples’ weekend without kids :). We spent our weekend touring the West Edmonton Mall, which is only a 5 minute drive from here. I chose this hotel because it is a little bit more upscale and romantic (if that’s possible?) than the Holiday Inn Express & Suites and Candlewood Suites right next to it. It is rated as a 3-star hotel because it has a bar and breakfast area adjacent to the front desk. We never ended up ordering from the bar as we had a mini-fridge in our room to keep drinks that we purchased from a very nearby liquor store cold. I also never ordered any specialty coffee from the bar area as I think I would have had to admit the front desk clerk to help me and he looked busy. There is a large Starbucks espresso machine but I didn’t see any syrups; maybe these were stored in a closed cupboard, or maybe you can only get a plain cappuccino or latte. I’m not sure because I could not see a drinks menu anywhere. I didn’t like that when I called what I thought was the direct phone number to the hotel to reserve, I had to speak to someone from the U.S. who had clearly never been to this hotel because she couldn’t tell me how the breakfast is or find a code to ensure that we could get a bright room. It turned out well though, as when we arrived, they put us on the 6th floor (facing the back parking lot but no big deal). The hotel foyer/lobby area, elevator and hallway carpets were not as clean as I would have expected for a Hyatt (it seemed like those areas needed a good vacuum or more regular cleaning) but our room (a King room) was immaculate. It felt like a very nice business hotel with no frills but it our room was very clean, bright, spacious, and had everything we needed. There is a single bathroom sink (so only one person can get ready at a time) and a separate room with a sliding door for the toilet and large shower. There is no door between the sink and bedroom. There is a large desk with comfy leather chair and a nice large couch to sit in. The bed is pretty firm and we each had 2 relatively flat pillows but we still slept very well. Breakfast is served between 7-10am and consists of Seattle’s Best coffee, French toast or waffles, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, sausages, tortillas, grated cheese and fixings to make breakfast wraps, fresh fruit, assorted yogurts, cereal, toast, bagels, milk, ice water, apple juice and orange juice. No muffins or pastries but it was still very good.
