borderline scam for bay view rooms

baw10 (Chicago, Illinois) on Jan 17, 2025

I booked a 3 night stay here and opted for the bay view rooms based on some of the reviews here (more $$). The view/balcony is great, but the elevator bank is close by and is VERY audible in the room all day and all night! I moved to a different room after the first night. I was told there are no bay view rooms NOT impacted by this noise so I was moved to the parking lot view in front of the hotel on the 5th floor. Oh boy. And of course I paid in advance so tough luck for me. I honestly don't know how they get away with this. They blamed it on the hurricane from a year ago. Well even if that's the case, they should disclose this while booking. As in very disruptive out of the ordinary elevator sounds are present in the room all day. Do not recommend!

Business meeting review

Scott B (Tulsa) on Jan 14, 2025

The resort is first class. I could not get over all the amenities, including the pools, slides and bars. It was nice and quiet in January, which was perfect for our meeting. I am sure it is a very hot spot for families in the summer!! The staff was very welcoming and professional.

Family friendly stay at Hyatt Regency Coconut Point

Inspire22826076757 on Jan 12, 2025

This resort is great and very family friendly. The pools and slides are awesome for kids and adults alike. We had a great time. It is a solid 4 stars. We went over Xmas break which was a busy time. I just felt that they were understaffed for this busy time. Mainly housekeeping and the pool area. Pool food took a long time to come and they ran out of some food like the made to order pizzas. Housekeeping didn't give us enough pillows but were quick to get us some more. One day they took all of the towels but one. We called for more towels and they brought us more pillows! Anyways, we ended up getting more towels an hour later. I think at such a busy time they would staff accordingly. It won't keep me from coming back with my family again. I never saw the rock climbing open and my kids wanted to try it. We loved the balloon and face painting artist! We went twice. I wish I had time to try the spa but it was already booked when I called to find a time to get a facial or a massage. Book in advance!

Nailed it. Again.

Ben C (London, United Kingdom) on Jan 06, 2025

Never fails to impress. We have been coming here for years and spend a chunk of our time away from home at the Hyatt. The hotel and people are what make this place tick like clockwork. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough for getaways, holidays, conferences, weddings and any other life event. Love you guys and see you in August.

Cannot trust a dinner reservation for Captains Room

John N on Jan 05, 2025

You cannot trust a dinner reservation at the Tarpon Bay restaurant made through OpenTable. Weeks in advance, I made a dinner reservation for a special family dinner in the Captains Room on December 30th. I committed to spend at least $708.40 for the seven of us. On December 29th, I received the normal notice from OpenTable asking me to confirm our reservation, which I did. OpenTable replied that the reservation was all set. We all got dressed up and arrived on time only to find out that the Captains Room had been given to another party. The manager, Jonathan, refused to honor our reservation and said it was out of his hands. He ruined my night and embarrassed me in front of my family. I will never return here to this restaurant which has no regard for basic customer service.
