We had some issues with our stay at Papakea Resort
jmcqui931054 (Crescent City, California) on Jan 03, 2023
We went on a family trip with my grandchildren and daughters. My initial reaction was the Papakea Resort place was Overpriced! The Funiture seemed old and outdated, the living room and kitchen floors seemed sticky, the toilet did not flush properly and required jiggling each time we needed to flush, smelly couch that smelled sour. Not acceptable for more than $1,000 per day !
Papakea A209 is Awesome!!

We booked directly with the condo owner, Carol via VRBO. The unit is exactly (if not better) than pictured and a has a fantastic ocean front view. We ate most meals on the lanai and slept with the doors open to listen to the waves. Carol does a great job communicating with you throughout the booking process and checks in with you to make sure everything’s ok. The unit is nicely remodeled, very clean and has everything you need for a great vacation (beach chairs, umbrella, cooler, putters and golf balls for the on-site putting course, etc). We felt like we were at home and have already booked again for next year. This was our first stay at Papakea; we’ve stayed at several other condos in the Kaanapali area and this is our new favorite. We really enjoyed the lush grounds, with plenty of beach front seating (if you choose to leave the views from the lanai!) and the putting greens and shuffle boards. The resort is within easy walking distance to the Times supermarket, the Food Truck area (you must try the Thai food truck!) as well as a local Venezuelan shop (the Arepas are great) and the Fish Market. We did swim out front one day but you can easily walk 1-2 resorts to the south for more of a beach. Also less than 5 min drive to Airport Beach Park where we spent several days. We can’t wait to return next year.
