Big name, beautiful hotel. Poor experience

TravelingRads (Gurugram (Gurgaon), India) on Feb 25, 2024

We were on our first family trip with parents and kids to Vegas and then on to Grand Canyon. We all were really looking forward to the trip. Bellagio was a big part of the experience. I booked this hotel due to it repute and name. Wanted my family to enjoy a great experience - even if it was quite pricey. The check in person was either distracted or just bored and busy. He waved us over to check in as if we are in queue at a super market - even they do it with a smile and at least ask about your day. I am sure he makes much more than them, but he was not welcoming at all. Did not have a smile to offer, no questions about our trip or just about anything. Anyway - moving on, the rooms were really nice. Overall hotel is impressive - huge, vast, crowded, busy. Typical vegas big hotel. We are not serious casino players - and enjoyed our short, fun games. Had dinner as the Jasmine. It was nice. The service was better than what we got at checkin and food was great. Very nice evening. Next day we wanted to have a quick breakfast at Sadelle and head out for Grand Canyon. One disappointment we had in the morning when we discovered that the rooms are not equipped with tea / coffee machines - as a policy!! We were very surprised at this from a hotel of this stature. Apparently they want you to walk almost half a block to Starbucks ( with long serpentine lines) for your morning coffee!! We have stayed at hotels all across the globe, and big or small, every hotel offers this basic amenity. For breakfast, The lucky part was that I reached Sadelle early. so I got a seat and did not have to stand in the scary long line that starts up pretty quickly. Food was ok - but some of us struggled with getting enough seasoning for our omelettes. Service is slow. The worst experience was yet to come. Next day we were checking out, and for breakfast I experienced the long lines both at Starbucks and Sadelle. We were in the queue for an hour for breakfast!! Apparently they don’t have many breakfast places, and whatever they have are always with long lines. We checked out Buffet and it had longer lines. After waiting in long queue when we finally got in, ordered food and again got it late - there was no salt in the eggs (we had asked for it). The manager had a yet another surprise for us when he said the cooks don’t usually see the instructions that come with the order - and it is what it is!! I was quite surprised by his answer. Coming from the manager, I was hoping for something more like it was a mistake, can we get it prepared again. But it just didn’t matter to him. They say on the menu that we can make our own omelette and then they don’t read instructions??!! How about if someone sends instructions not to put an ingredient due to severe allergies?? Will they ignore it and add it anyway?? I felt may be selecting a cheaper and smaller brand would have been wiser as we all were running hungry for hours without even a cup of tea in this grand hotel!! Not sure what is the value of booking in the hotel when we cannot even get a place to have simple breakfast Also - if you want to ask for late check out - u can only ask when checking in. I did not know that, and in spite of the fact that we were paying for the late checkout, I had to request multiple times for the extension. Looks pretty, has a big name. But I got the feeling our business is not valuable to them, so will not stay with them again. I am a regular at vegas due to conferences - so now know not to stay at Bellagio.

Awesome Resorts

Beautiful Resort and Casino. Top notch services from front desk, to security, to house keeping, to casino floor, etc. Highly professional staffs. Love to stay here again and again and again. Never had any issue so far.
