Rundown Hotel

EDIT: I would like to add the following... When I went to ask about being put on a higher floor, which is where I was supposed to be, the explanation I received was that as people check in, they are given rooms that may have been 'reserved' for those who have not checked in at that time. I questioned that logic, but was told that is how they do it. At this point, I was given a $50 food credit. When I went the second time to see if we could be moved to a higher floor, I was told there was nothing available. I asked to speak to a manager, the lady went and talked to somebody and came back to tell me the only thing they could do is to remove the resort fee for one night. When I went the third time, to tell them I would be checking out earlier than expected (7 pm that night instead of 11 am the next day) I was told I would be charged a fee for late check out if I did that. I explained that I was just letting them know I would be out of the room so that they could go in earlier to clean it. The women had such a bad attitude that I then said that I should get the resort fee removed. When she asked why, I explained to her that we were not given instructions on how to connect to the wi-fi and her response was 'well, it is easy to connect....you should have asked" I told her that most places have a note on how to connect. She told me that they had already waived the fee for one night and they wouldn't do anymore. I said ok and left. I would like to point out that I remained calm and polite at all times. I admit that I like my rooms clean. I wasn't looking for a free stay, just wanted them to make it right. Rundown hotel. The 'updated flamingo room' was dirty and on a low floor where you could hear the music from next door. The room was dirty and did not get housekeeping services even though it was requested. The front desk people (I spoke to 3 different people) were not helpful at all. There is no concierge service. The Ceasers rewards program is not good. Coffee is very expensive. The only good thing is that they are located in a very good spot.
Disappointed

Have stayed numerous times and for the most parts everything was good. was alittle disappointed when quoted price and upon check-out the bill was higher. they offered a $5 upgrade and it became a $30 upgrade. The resort fee was quoted at $44.95 and was billed at $49.95. Thought even charging a resort fee was illegal. i was there for six night stay and the room was never serviced.
Amazing service and amazing staff that actually care about customer service. Thank you! Pluswhen you leave a reviewyou get a go

Just from the start of our experience with Darnell, it was amazing, and the spa supervisor gave us a tour. We had booked at the linq and the service was nothing compared to just the first 15 minutes in the flamingo spa. Thank you, Flamingo, for making my spa experience memorable and looking at the flamingos on the way in was amazing.
One and Done

I have wanted to stay at The Flamingo for a long time. I finally booked it. First, the good. I have to say the location on the strip is the greatest. I think that is the main draw of this historic hotel. I loved the flamingo habitat, too. The stores are great and pretty affordable, too. I actually enjoyed Carlos and Charlie's, too. Most of the people that worked at the hotel were pretty friendly for the most part. Now, for the bad (reasons i would not stay again). My room was an older room. It was decent, other than the bathroom. I wound up taking cold showers in winter because the "hot" (and I use that term loosely) water lasted less than a minute before turning ice cold. I know that a LOT of people complain about this. It's a serious problem that they really should fix. The parking situation: My friend had put on her room to pay with her room key, but that never worked in the garage (another problem that LOTS of people have), so she wound up getting tickets and paying that way (which cost more). Of course when she got her final bill, the charge was put on there and she had to have them remove it. They REALLY need to fix those room keys. More on the room keys: they don't work in the elevator half the time. This is another problem that LOTS of people have. Everybody gets in the elevators helping each other try to push their floor because their room key isn't working. I even say people going up and down to different floors because it wasn't working. We even talked to a worker there that said hers doesn't even work all of the time. Totally unacceptable. Despite the shortcomings, I still enjoyed my stay for the things that were good, but I will choose another hotel on the strip next time.
Don't cheat for cheap. Not worth it.

Be sure to verify the charges on your invoice before you leave. Even if you think you've already disputed charges, check it again. I have a list of grievances, but in the lead is how they handled the WiFi charges. They offer WiFi for a max of 2 devices or you will be charged $14.99. I only had my laptop and phone with me. Every time I tried to connect it would ask me to pay the $14.99. I called downstairs and they said to accept the charges and they would immediately remove them so I wouldn't even see the charge by checkout. By checkout all the WiFi charges were there. The front desk had to get a supervisor who said "We'll remove them for now," pending an investigation with their WiFi team. It was insulting that suddenly their money grab was flipped to me trying to get one over on them. They emailed me my invoice and there were still two internet charges on my bill. I called and the lady seemed exhausted by my complaint. All charges were finally removed, but I had to monitor and endlessly request the correction. Partner that with $9 water, no "free" housekeeping service that I requested, no complimentary coffee or tea, etc, this will be my first and last stay there. It came recommended due to the convenient location, but the cons far outweighed that one pro.
