Nice, but doesn’t feel like Hollywood

Planet Hollywood is just a hotel on the Las Vegas strip. We liked the shopping center that surrounds Planet Hollywood, and we thought the casino was nice and modern walking through it. But the room? Well, it was just OK. The main area was very spacious, with a somewhat decent view of the Sphere in the background. The bathroom, though, well it was big, but not well maintained. Especially that shower wall, that was just ??. Overall, it’s an ok stay, but the hotel just didn’t scream Hollywood to me, unlike other hotels like Paris and New York New York. Planet Hollywood felt more like Planet Las Vegas, honestly.
Why even make a reservation???

My wife and I reserved a king size bed at Planet Hollywood. We drove 4.5 hours from Los Angeles. When we got to Planet Hollywood, miraculously, no king beds were available. We were told that our reservation was just a request, and beds were actually first come first served. We spoke with Robert at the desk. Robert told us that there was nothing he could do. So we asked to speak to the manager. In comes Bryan Navarro, the hotel manager. We explained to Bryan that we reserved a king size bed, but were given queens. Bryan repeated that the queens were the only beds they have. We have a hard time believing that the hotel is full with it being off season, plenty of parking in the garage, and most of the bars and restaurants closed. Bryan also told us that he feels that we were just going to talk in circles. I do not wish to talk in circles, so I asked Bryan what the fix was, and he reiterated that there was nothing he could do because reservations are actually just requests. We fill that the beds are not truly queen size beds. They are full size beds and my wife and I are too large to fit in them together. So we will be sleeping separate tonight. In all of our travels around the world, we have never not gotten the bed we requested. We have no choice but to spend our weekend sleeping in separate beds, which is unacceptable. We are fully aware that sometimes things happen. However, it's all about how a corporation handles things that will ultimately decide how we feel about them. This situation was handled very poorly, so I see no rating more appropriate than a 1 star.
