Buyer beware - this hotel is marginal at best

Global36933 on Apr 11, 2024

This hotel via the website provides a deceptive perspective. There are no restaurants for dinner and unless you read very carefully you need to walk about 15-20 min to get to the closest restaurant at the MGM Grand. The website gives you the impression that everything is at hand. It is not... The gym is a complete joke. The equipment is very dated. The Starbucks in Tower 1 is very poorly staffed and the wait for coffee is up to 30 min - this is what I experienced on more than one occasion. And the oven to heat food was broken for 2+ days. Hmm.... The only restaurant that serves breakfast was closed in the early AM when it should have been opened. Hence the person staying there is left to figure out what to do for food on their own - unless of course you want to walk 20 min to get to the MGM Grand. The room is spacious but that is the only positive here. I learned that many of the rooms are privately owned as this was once a condo complex owned by individuals. If looking for a bargain basement price, this may be an option. But beware that you get what you pay for....

Good info for Aussies and anyone coming from another country.

Paula O on Apr 10, 2024

Coming from Australia, we mainly picked the MGM Signature because it seemed to be the best hotel for value. We made the right choice because we weren’t disappointed. We stayed here for 6 nights. Our room was in Tower 2. Checkin was easy and quick. Staff were all friendly and helpful. We were on the 37th floor in a deluxe suite with a pool, and part strip view. Our bed looked so comfy, but was actually really hard. Not really an issue though as I asked housekeeping if they could put something under the sheets to make it softer, and we came back to a softer bed. So thank you housekeeping!! I should note that there is no mini bar in the room to purchase any alcohol, chips, cool drink etc. which wasn’t an issue for us personally. Let’s face it, they are usually pretty over priced anyway! A bonus is having the bar fridge (which is a good size) at no extra cost. Sounds weird to an Aussie to pay for your room fridge, but not unusual for Las Vegas hotels. So that’s a bonus! There is absolutely no cutlery, plates, pots etc in the room. But don’t stress, because you just have to call reception and they will send whatever you want up to the room. Now, for tea lovers… there was no tea at all. There’s a coffee percolator, coffee and sugar in the room. Not coffee granules either, just peculated coffee. So if you’re a tea lover like me, just bring your own, or purchase some at the supermarket or their local pharmacy. (Again strange for Aussies to see Tea, Sugar, milk, food etc in a pharmacy) but it’s super handy and there’s plenty close by. The MGM Grand is accessible by a walkway which is about 5, 10 minutes walk all undercover. Great shops to look through on the way, and MGM Grand has a food court. Pizza, burgers, Mexican, Asian and a smoothie/ice cream shop. Also close by they have a frozen yogurt/ waffle place. Yummy!! Not cheap, but as a one off it was worth it. The little mini bar type of shop they have between the walkway to MGM Grand, is so over priced, so try and buy these things outside of the hotel. The only negative thing for us personally, was not having any room service at all. Sometimes late at night you just want a burger and fries or something yummy! They do have a coffee shop opposite the lifts in tower 2. But from memory I think it closed at 6pm. So if you don’t want the coffee in the room head down there, or to the coffee shop opposite the mini bar shop… the one I mentioned above. We actually got an Uber, and went to Walmart and grabbed what we wanted for the duration of our stay from there. It’s huge!! And reasonably priced, was worth the trip there. Not half as bad as what TicToc makes it look. It has everything! Go look! So why did I give this 5 stars with not having some of things above. Easy! The room size is incredible, it’s quiet, clean, and although towards the end of the strip, everything is accessible either by monorail or good old fashioned walking. You’re really close to the M&M and Coke stores too. For golf lovers… wow! You will love the undercover driving range right next door to the hotel. Not having its own restaurant isn’t an issue either. There’s so many places to eat out at. Side note: Getting your laundry done in hotels is so expensive. We found a company called PUSH LAUNDRY. You can download the app and book and pay for it all online. They pick it up from you where the valet parking area is, and drop it back to you. It was so cheap compared to doing it at the hotel. I hope this review helps anyone coming from a different country.
