Extremely Disappointed

robertmA7489HO on Jul 22, 2021

I will start by saying I haven't visited Las Vegas in 5 years and things do change. However, the changes are experienced were not for the better. I have pasted the review I wrote on Harrah's Facebook page. Please excuse a couple misspelled words......Harrah's Las Vegas first, we have already left. It's the little things that are missed when added together are what make the bad experience. First, it's too automated. So many issues could've been avoided with a more personal touch. The elevators for example. While I truly appreciate enhanced security, if said security is not explained to guests then it's worthless. The elevators required a room key "swipe" to work. Nothing at the kiosk explained that. Not every elevator goes to each floor. Different elevators for different sections. Kiosk did not mention this. It took another HOTEL QUEST to explain how this worked. Signage of available services. The restaurant buffet signs are still everywhere. We planned to dine there one evening. We walked around for nearly 30 minutes trying to find it only to eventually find out it had been shut down. TAKE THE SIGNS DOWN! Again, a kiosk does not tell you this like a live person would. We reserved the room for 4 but the room was only stocked for 2. We tried calling for more towels using the quick dial buttons on the room phone. Finally got the right number, acces nobody answered. Finally use the "get a text" option. I get the greeting and answered that text with our towel request. It took the system over an hour to acknowledge. My wife finally went to the desk herself. The towels finally arrived at some point in the middle of the night as they were hanging on the door the next morning loooooong after the time we needed them. It's VERY frustrating that for the price we paid we couldn't get a single cup of complimentary coffee! Even Motel 6 offers that! Very frustrating and aggravating that i can't enjoy a morning cup of coffee in my room I paid over $200/ night for. Instead i had to get up, get fully dressed, walk halfway across the facility, take an elevator down 18 floors and $5.00 for a morning cup of coffee! And Covid iis not a valid excuse as we traveled by car through several states and this was the ONLY place that did not offer this service. And finally, all the fun has been taken out of the gaming. I'm not a high roller, but we did spend $600 in your casino. I NEVER expected to leave with thousands of dollars in my pocket. I do however expect hours of fun for that much. In our experience you machines are set so tight we used up our budget faster than ever before. Maybe 2 hours is my estimated time played. That's a very discouraging feeling. I will say again, we AREN'T expecting to break the bank, but we would like to have fun and a sense of "maybe we could win". But, penny machines are no longer penny machines when the min bet is 30 cents on most penny machines. Pretty much defeats the purpose of a "penny" machine and contributes to the more rapid loss of money. I expect to lose, just not so quickly. Under your current set up, it's better to play a quarter machine. Finally, table game minimums have at least doubled! That priced me out of that enjoyment as well. I'm closing, i realize that covid has been tough on all businesses this past year, especially hospitality so I realize that some changes have to happen. Id suggest reevaluate the changes you made. I know you're a for profit company meaning no profit, no hotel resort to come and enjoy. My issue this visit is much of the enjoyment was taken away for whatever the reason. Thanks for reading this if you made it through to this point.

chaotic busy lobby with long check in and out lines considering the covid rules think staff did well, as it seemed the whole world was in Las Vegas, Double bedded room was spacious and well appointed. Called for extra towels, which were delivered promptly and hung on ours door knob.. Included breakfast was in nearby mall and not very good - only yoghurt and banana.
