The hotel epitomizes luxury within a small town while also offering complete privacy and every modern touch. The perfect place for everyone from honeymooners to large families. The resort features 4,447 acres of unspoiled beauty. Boasting three restaurants and 20,000 square feet of turtle-shaped pools, extraordinary beaches, and world class golf course.
The resort is beautiful, the service is great but me and my girlfriend got there Thursday afternoon and booked a boat tour for Friday at 1:30pm. She started feeling sick Thursday night so Friday morning I went to the activities desk to cancel our trip and at first they said they would give us our refund but upon check out they said they wouldn't give us our money back because we didn't cancel it within 24 hours. But how can I cancel if I didn't know she was going to get sick or how can I cancel within 24 hours if the tour was in less than 24 hours. Even showed them prove of medication we bought at the pharmacy and still couldn't get my refund.
beautiful hotel, beautiful golf course but with conditions...

Throughout our stay we were asked on several occasions to leave a review for trip advisor so here goes:
upon getting to the hotel we were greeted with a cool drink and a cool towel (so cool) we checked in and that seemed to go pretty smooth, however when I booked through their booking service I was offered a $500 coupon book to the hotel and services (this comes into play later) . After checking in we were told that we needed to meet with our concierge about the hotel, where things were, what is in our package ect.. we purchased the all inclusive and unlimited golf package. while sitting with our concierge she was going over items but didn't seem to understand our package details at all, I am the type of person to keep all my paperwork and I had my list of what came with our package and it stated 3 days of golf or we could swap out one of our golf days with various other items like snorkeling, massage, fishing, paddle boarding in the dark ect, She seemed to think we had all of these items. The reason she was going over this was because she was trying to talk us into a timeshare presentation and wanted to offer us something, but thought we already had everything the hotel had to offer so she just wanted us to come to the presentation and offered to add an additional perk. We were not interested in the timeshare presentation, we politely declined, but it was pressed further. As most people know Timeshare presentations can be very high pressure sales, and there was no exception with our Concierge. Throughout our stay we were pressured multiple times into joining the presentation. Our thoughts on it were, we paid 4200 to have a relaxing golf vacation away from it all and a timeshare presentation was the last thing we wanted to do on our vacation away from it all.
Once we got that out of the way we had our bags taken to our room, the room was nice, it was not spectacular however we only paid for the deluxe suite with 2 queen beds. The room had a full size working microwave, fridge, stove and sink, with all of the dishes and utensils you could need.
The bathroom was nice and had a large walk in shower with a large glass door, our room had a flat screen TV and a large balcony overlooking the pools. the beds were not the most comfortable, and the sheets were not what I would expect out of a $300 a night room, but the room did have A/C which was needed and appreciated.
The restaurants were nice, we had a great experience at casa Mia and the hostess Lupita she was truly an awesome service person and remembered our names and was happy to see us everyday, in addition to making reservations to Danzante for us and going above and beyond for me, by having the kitchen making my favorite Mexican treat Churros! We also had great service from Tulio, and Rapheal at Danzante and the Market and David and Jorge at the bar/restaurant on the beach. We purchased a special romantic dinner on the beach, which was reasonably priced and just wonderful Jorge was our server and David put it together.
We didn't go into the pools much mostly because pools aren't really our thing, but when we were in the pool the poolside service was nice.
Golf was interesting, the course was beautiful and the golf professional and servicemen and women were great. Martin was awesome as was Richie, Pedro, and Sauelle. The course was beautiful, and difficult, we did find it a bit stressful that every hole had workers on it somewhere between 3-10 workers on every hole, whether in the fairway or by the green. It made playing difficult, if you have a slice or a hook watch out, because you are likely to hit a worker. At one point the sprinklers came on, at the tee box while my husband was getting ready to tee off, a worker turned them on and then off really quick realizing his mistake, but the damage was already done, he was nervous every shot after that.
The hotel is a non cash hotel, meaning that cash is only for tipping EXCEPT for the covid test, which was frustrating we had to use the last of our cash for the covid test because they did not let you bill that to a a card or your room. When we asked about billing to our card or our room we were straight up ignored, she would not answer our question
we decided to go snorkeling and that was by far my favorite experience at the hotel, our guide took us snorkeling, and we saw wild dolphins, and whales, and our guide was very knowledgeable of the area, the culture and the history. he took us to all the neat spots to see a variety of tropical fish, reefs and birds.
All in all would we go back to this hotel? Probably not, not for the price we paid. by the 6th day we were ready to go home. The service was outstanding (other than our concierge) the rooms were average, the golf course was beautiful but overshadowed by the vast amount of workers in the fairways, and the threat of getting hit by sprinklers and or hitting one of them with a stray ball. The food was pretty good, but nothing to write home about, and seemed to go right through us. we did not do the spa as it was a bit overpriced for us. The view was amazing and the beach and water was beautiful and we loved Snorkeling. But all in all I did not find the value in what I paid translate to the hotel, or the golf course.
