Home away from home

Each time I travel to Santa Monica I choose the Courtyard by Marriott due to the friendly staff from the valet all the way down to housekeeping, which is completed every day as some Courtyards I stay at advise every other day. The staff has a friendly demeanor, and make it feel like a home away from home. The decor here is up-to-date and modern.
Temporary home during evacuation

We were forced to evacuate due to the Palisades fire and stayed here for 3 nights. The entire staff was amazingly warm and welcoming. When we first arrived, Christian at the valet desk, let us take as much time as we needed to unload our car and give us all the info we needed for parking. James was on duty during his security watch and greeted us with a smile, and I engaged a little conversation with him about our situation. He was kind, empathetic, and asked if there was anything he could do to make us feel better. Owen, Cedric and James at the front desk. We're just as kind and welcoming always wanted to know what they could do to make us feel better. And then there was Valerie behind the front desk, who not only kept asking what she could do to help, but clearly saw that I was in distress one morning and simply asked if she could offer me a hug. What a wonderful and warm human being. This is a fantastic place and I can't recommend it highly enough.
