Noisy service elevator

Randy L (San Juan Cosala, Mexico) on May 09, 2024

I stayed on 2 occasions a week apart. The first visit the bed had a deep indentation that made sleeping almost impossible. The 2nd visit for 2 nights I had my room changes 3 time due to the noise of the service elevator - hum sound continuously. All rooms needed some kind of repair. The frontt desk was willing to change my room but I couldn't handle unpacking and packing only to encounter the same noise.

A wonderful experience at Sonesta, LAX

Sue A (Phoenixville, Pennsylvania) on May 08, 2024

Our whole experience at Sonesta Hotel, was wonderful. The room was clean and very comfortable. But the best part was your staff. When I called in advance of our trip to confirm our reservation which Priceline screwed up and refused to acknowledge, I talked the the kindest most patient person who spoke to me so kindly that my frustrations just seemed to melt. Then when we arrived I found the same kind, friendly help from the woman at the front desk. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your service. Susanna Allen

Discriminatory Practices

FELICIA M (Beaumont, California) on Apr 26, 2024

Discrimination- So I booked the hotel for it's location to LAX, I didn't review the reviews and booked through Expedia with flight and hotel. I contacted them a few days before to find out if I could bring my dog (a Maltese) at which time they said yes and there would be a $150.00 fee (which I was fine with). Upon arrival to the hotel I immediately smelled mildew or stale water smell, which wasn't appealing but moved forward to reservation desk. As I was waiting I could hear other people checking in with other agents. When I got to my agent to check in, she informed me that they charge a $200.00 a day fee to my card as a deposit....I immediately debated this, as I've never paid anything close to this amount at 5 star hotel. I informed the agent that the lady before me bought her ticket through Expedia also (as I could hear her) and her deposit was just $150.00. I asked if this was because of the dog she said NO, this is a corporate policy. I then asked then why did the other person (who was not black) only pay $150.00, she in turn said , 'its a different booking (how would she know when she didn't even confirm). I asked to see a Manager who then informed me that this was there policy and he could lower it to $400.00, still unacceptable. Due to me having my dog and us traveling for so long I went ahead and paid the deposit. I totally feel this was a form of discrimination, as the other customers were non-black. I am an Government employee, here on personal business and will never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Clean, Convenient, Spacious, and Reasonably Priced

C G (San Francisco, California) on Apr 23, 2024

Overall a positive experience. Front desk was friendly and quick. The room itself was quite spacious and clean. The decor could use some updating, but it wasn't anything a little design update couldn't fix. The room was quiet. You couldn't even hear the airplanes. Right next to LAX, which is terrific. The only negative part was their shuttle at the airport took forever to pick me up. But traffic is terrible at LAX, so delays are to be expected. Overall two thumbs up.

Avoid at all costs!

Sarah C (Sydney, Australia) on Mar 27, 2024

This hotel is not worth the stay. When it was the Crowne Plaza, it was reasonable, clean and affordable. Now it is run down, air conditioning didn't worth, general upkeep is on the poor side. Check in was a joke - took way too long even with an existing booking. I agree with the comments about the deposit - I can't believe they can get away with it. And the Grab and Go place - waiting in line for 20 mins while someone wanted to maximise thier voucher because they were on a delayed flight. And the person serving her encouraged it, not caring about the long line behind us. Don't stay here - pay more to stay elsewhere
