The Poetry of Zoetry

Anne S on Apr 20, 2024

My husband and I just spent a glorious week at Zoetry Casa Del Mar Los Cabos. From the minute we arrived we were pampered and taken care of - and we really needed it. Most important, it was our first trip traveling with serious mobility issues for my husband. Everyone accommodated his needs with warmth, consideration and happiness while also making sure I was taken care of, too. Jose, Bellman extraordinaire, graciously golf carted us numerous times a day to the beach and back. (And, Alberto, too!) the room was beautiful - ocean front in the main building. The room was immaculate and tended to 3 times a day. We spent our days on the beach, under comfy palapas where we were waited on with extra care by Suar and Erik who anticipated our every need. Saltwater restaurant was in a glorious setting and the food was amazing - the service by Zacarias, Reyna, Mario and others was top rate. At the Arroyo restaurant in the main building, the rotating Mexican regional cuisine options added variety and delicious choices - and service by Sebastian and Alexis, and Erik again was fun-filled and fabulous. The vegan options were amazing and I am not a vegan! And special thanks to Ricardo at the front desk - who, in addition to being so cheerful and professional, helped me remember how to count in Spanish! We will definitely return! You should go!

Special boutique hotel

Seaside03413790688 (Washington) on Apr 19, 2024

Zoetry is a wonderful boutique hotel with staff members who go out of their way to make guests feel welcome! When our nearby hotel was overrun with large events, we escaped to Zoetry for a relaxing meal in their bar. Our server Alexis was especially wonderful, going out of his way to make us feel special. We’ll definitely be back.

Wonderful Experience

Climber43146380573 on Apr 19, 2024

We had a couples massage (Swedish and deep tissue). The service included a day pass with the hydrotherapy room for jacuzzi and sauna. All amenities were extremely relaxing, and to our luck, we were the only ones in the spa at this time (1030 on a Friday). Our therapists Nidia and Omar were both excellent and among the best therapists either of us have experienced. Will definitely come again and book even just a small treatment here as the facility is so nice and relaxing, and the staff is excellent.

Solid 4 out of 5, highly recommend

I just returned home from a 6 day/5 night stay at Zoetry in Cabo with my husband. Short review: we had a great time and would return in the future! Pros: - Property is beautiful - Service is great - Lots of vegetarian and vegan options - No reservations required at restaurants - Very relaxed, no waking up early to claim a pool chair - Plentiful towels - Great laundry service - Transportation was easy Cons: - non-hotel room assignment - Noticeable maintenance - Limited snacks/grab and go food - Time share tours - Beach is more than 15 minute walk in rocky sand Detailed review: THE HOTEL PROPERTY / ROOMS The hotel is part of 10ish buildings that make up the entire property. As far as we could tell the main building is for the hotel guests only. The other buildings are either a mix of hotel guests, time share owners/renters or condo owners/renters. Our experience was that we booked a Deluxe Ocean View Room - King. We arrived and were put in a room in the time share building 3. It was a very nice room and the building had its own pool, but you couldn’t see the ocean from the pool and it was also close to the main road, so you could hear cars and it didn’t feel very special. It was also a walk through a landscaped desert to get to the main pool and restaurants. See beautiful view from the room in my first pic, but note the landscaped dessert and distance to main buildings to the left. We asked if we could be moved to a room that was closer to the main property and without any questions asked they moved us the next day. The new room was in the Gaviota building, which was right next to the main building, so that was great! However the entry to the room smelled damp and someone had clearly sprayed soooo much perfume to cover the damp smell. The new room was also less nice than the previous room, even though it had a better location. We were embarrassed, but asked again if there was any other room and sure enough, no questions asked, we were moved to arguably the best room in the hotel. It was room 107. This was a Junior Suite Oceanfront. This was only a little more expensive than the room I originally booked. From the online booking I thought the only difference was the bathroom, but now I know it is significantly better. If we go back we will 100% only go if we can get this room or one just like it. It is definitely worth the extra money. All of this was a little annoying, yet the service and willingness to accommodate our expectations was greatly appreciated AND we weren’t charged any extra for this higher quality room, even though we gladly would have. Also worth noting, on the weekdays there are lots and lots of time share tours. So just know you’ll see a lot of that by the main building. CHECK-IN We were given a tour of the property because our room wasn’t ready. We had to sit through a mini-sales pitch for 10 minutes trying to upsell us on excursions or the spa, when all we wanted to do was eat something after all of the travel. Also, there was never a mention of onsite activities. It took us 2 days to find out there was an activity sheet, but we weren’t provided it at checkin or in our room. I had to eventually ask and I’m glad I did… ACTIVITIES There was daily yoga, bingo every few days as well as craft and sports classes. Activities were minimally noticeable and allowed you to just relax if you wanted. I participated in bingo and yoga and enjoyed them both. ONSITE MAINTENANCE The property is beautiful and the location could not be better, but that’s only because they are actively up-keeping the place. In our time there we saw a lot of maintenance. At the Saltwater restaurant every time we ate there something was being addressed: cleaning the outdoor shades, which blocked the view of the ocean during our lunch when we first arrived, 2 days later they were changing the light bulbs in the light fixtures, and then that night they were swapping out umbrellas during dinner. Aside from the restaurant we saw painting of walls, heard sawing of something during breakfast as well as the removal a bugs nest of some kind one morning. In total, all of this was mildly annoying, but to keep the place that beautiful, I get it. But if this will annoy you, be warned. THE POOLS There are 2 pools with a hot tub and kiddy pool in front of the main building with the beautiful view of the beach. The other buildings also have dedicated pools and (we were told infinity hot tubs) but all guests are welcome to use the main pool, so you will end up with a mix of hotel/all-inclusive guests as well as time share and condo owners/renters at the pool. Even though the hotel is advertised as 50ish rooms, there are many more buildings with more people, so I could see it potentially feeling less boutique-like. We stayed Saturday - Thursday in mid-April and it never felt too crowded. There was no rush to wake up early to get pool chairs and it was very relaxed. I’m not sure if that changes during busier periods. Big plus: Pool towels were plentiful and you didn’t have to keep track of how many you took and how many you had to return. THE BEACH You cannot swim in the ocean by the hotel. They said you could walk 15 minutes to the left down the beach to the Hilton to swim, but I walked 15 minutes in that direction and was not even close. The beach is rocky and I gave up and just went back because my feet were hurting. If you’re determined to swim in the ocean, then bring water shoes to make the walk to that side of the beach easier and know it’ll be a bit of a trek. FOOD AND DRINKS There are 2 restaurants onsite (El Arroyo and Saltwater), 1 inside bar, and 1 outside bar by the pool that is also a swim up bar and 24 hour room service. El Arroyo has a nice outdoor area (view from my last picture) where you can see the ocean and Saltwater is directly on the ocean and lovely. Eating at this resort is always a sit-down meal. You don’t have to make reservations and can show up whenever you’d like and there’s no wait. There’s very little grab & go or buffet style or snacks aside for some fruit and muffins/cookies in the inside bar and some Pringles and candy in your room. We are big snackers so this was a minus for us. We wish there would have been a few more snacks or meals available to grab and not require ordering and waiting for food. That aside, the food was very good. I am vegetarian and there were many options for me as well as many vegan options on every menu! The pics of food I’ve posted were all vegetarian and yummy. The other food downside - every menu has a few salad options but they were “sad” salads — Not the big plentiful salads you know and love as a vegetarian/vegan. So lunch and dinner ended up being less healthy than I would have liked. We mostly ate at El Arroyo as we preferred that menu. Alexis and Francisco were our waiters every night and they were great. We barely used room service but the 1 time we did it was fine. Not as good a menu as the restaurants but it did the job as we didn’t don’t want to leave our room. The service can be a little slow (10 minutes to get a Diet Coke, 40 minutes for room service) but that is just being very nit-picky. It was fine. The drinks are plentiful and there’s no skimping at this all inclusive. We had bottles of Bacardi, stoli, mezcal, red and white wine all in our room. Every drink is a suitable size so you don’t have to constantly order little baby cups with barely any alcohol. The inside bar also made amazing coffee/iced coffee and we loved that each morning! LAUNDRY They offer free laundry services and I didn’t think I’d use it until I realized I didn’t pack clothes for the flight home and needed to reuse my clothes from the flight there. They gave me a bag, washed the 3 items and folded them back in our room when it was done. So great!! CHECK OUT So easy! They picked up our bags at exactly the right time. Our transport was ready and waiting for us. There wasn’t a late checkout m, instead it was whenever you were ready to go. Honestly best checkout I’ve ever experienced! TRANSPORTATION We booked the company recommended by the hotel, Amstar, and it was good. They have a rep in the hotel onsite as they also can help you book other excursions. We didn’t utilize that but the transport to/from was easy and affordable. $88 round trip for 2 people.
