Dawn - The General Manager.. Top notch service

Raysisha M on Jan 16, 2025

During our stay at Sandals Royal Caribbean in Jamaica, we experienced exceptional service, primarily due to the outstanding leadership of General Manager Dawn, who is undoubtedly a valuable asset to the company. Her presence on the grounds ensured that both guests and staff were well cared for, creating a seamless and comfortable environment. The operations manager further enhanced our experience by making us feel particularly special. Our room was beautifully appointed, offering a stunning ocean view that added to our enjoyment. We also did the Martha Brae bamboo rafting, which was a delightful adventure. The resort itself was immaculate, and the staff were remarkable, especially Natatia from the restaurant, whose vibrant energy and eagerness to learn truly stood out. Please promote her Thank you Dawn for a wonderful vacation:)

Excellent Experience

Randy G (Hickory, North Carolina) on Jan 16, 2025

We had the privilege to stay in the over the water bungalow. Our butlers were Makiko and Kadane. They were outstanding in every way. They made the trip very special. Everyone on the staff was friendly and enjoyable to talk to. Ava was there for an initial friendly greeting and then throughout our stay. Robert was superb in the French restaurant. The food exceeded our expectations with the French restaurant being our favorite. We also enjoyed having beverages at the pub. The resort is not supersized so it has a very quaint feel to it. Overall, we had a really great experience.

First time at a Sandals

John W (Chalfont, Pennsylvania) on Jan 15, 2025

This was my first trip to a Sandals resort, and my first experience with an all-inclusive property. My first take was "this is the most relaxing place that I have ever been". And for the most part this remained the case. I have broken down my review into a few different areas: The property- While showing some signs of age and a few tired areas, the property is very well maintained. New construction is underway on part of the property. The beach and pool areas, while never empty, never seemed to be overly crowded either. I totally understand the complaints about chairs being reserved by butlers or early morning guests, leaving few if any for late morning arrivals. It seemed to be an issue more around the pool than on the beach. The cats wandering around the property were a nice and very friendly. Except for the odd piece of litter on the island beach I did not observe any litter or trash at all. The staff worked diligently to keep the common areas spotless throughout the day. Breakfast- Simply sublime each and every day. A buffet of fresh fruit and hot items was available, as well as excellent coffee every morning. Having stayed in many properties which feature an included breakfast this one is one of the best I have encountered. Were the pastries occasionally a bit stale? Yes. Could you have just about anything you could think of made to order? Yes. Also, great service on the patio. Lunch- There were many options, my favorite being the jerk shack on the island. Excellent fish as well as jerk chicken and pork. The lunch buffet was nice, and the pizza counter is fun. To get a fresh dough pizza was a nice treat. There were some long waits for the pizzas however, as this was a popular option. Dinner- This is where I was disappointed. There was no one meal where I felt like the food was excellent. The service was always excellent, but the meals were fairly bland and the portions smaller than what I am used to. This was a let down, and very different given the breakfast and lunch offerings. I did not get to all of the restaurants, as reservations can be tough to get. Also, I had to eat at odd times as those were the only times available. The Bar- Very well staffed, I never had to wait long for anything. Red Stripe if the beer of choice, and other brands were only available at the Cricketers pub. I am not much of a drinker, but it was nice to have a night cap or a glass of wine when the feeling struck me. The Room- Fantastic. Newly remodeled, or so it seemed, and very well laid out. No issues with anything, and a very quiet place to sleep. The small outdoor space and tub were quite nice, and I observed several people who spent the majority of their time simply sitting in these spaces outside their rooms. The room was very clean, and I am picky about this. Will I go to a Sandals again? Quite likely yes, even though I gave it a 4/5 (because of the dinners) the staff make this a relaxing and rewarding experience.

Outside of most food and beverages is still an amazing resort

William M (Somersworth, New Hampshire) on Jan 15, 2025

Sandals Royal Caribbean is a beautiful well maintained resort. Of all the Sandals we have visited this is one of the best. The beaches are beautiful and the private island is awesome. Butlers Alexus and Monique are the best in the business. They are professional, courteous and overall two of the nicest people on the planet. Sandals should be using Alexus and Monique as role models for the entire crew of Butlers at Sandals. GM Dawn Smith and her staff are amazing. One of the most genuine groups of a resort staff to be found. There is a huge selection of rooms depending on one’s desire. We’ve stayed in the Over the water Villas in the past, stayed in an over the water bungalow this recent trip and plan to go back to stay in their new Sky Pool Villas in the future. Le Jardiner the French restaurant at Sandals Royal Caribbean is the best of all the resorts we’ve stayed at whether it be a Sandals or not. Bombay is a great place and location to have breakfast as well as dinner. Probably the only place I’ve seen that not only I but groups of others have made their way to just to order the bread for a snack to bring back to the room. . The remaining restaurants fell well below expectation. This is the first time of all Sandals visited I can say this. However, even though the food quality failed to meet standards, the Hosts, Hostesses and wait staff were incredible. Outside of Owen (who’s the greatest bartender on the planet) and a young lady whose name escapes me,quality of alcoholic beverages was deplorable. Not only the quality but the consistency as well. There wasn’t a single drink made (outside of Owen and the young lady) that could be identified as what was ordered. Watermelon margaritas were delivered as martinis, Bob Marley’s were brutal what should’ve been plain tequila margaritas tasted more like vodka and soda. If it weren’t for Owen and the young lady we would’ve chose to stick with bottled beer and wine. I do admit that even with the the food and alcohol quality, we will definitely return to Sandals Royal Caribbean again in the future.
