Helpful and Friendly

Joshua H. was very pleasant and helpful. Opened door for the ladies with me. Was helpful in directing us to the nearest food spots and gave us great recommendations. This company has A1 service and A1 employees. Glad I chose to stay where I did!

Planning a conference in Nashville? Look no further than the Sheraton Grand Nashville Downtown

Scott A on Sep 14, 2023

The Drug Enforcement Association of Federal Narcotics Agents (DEAFNA), formerly known as AFNA, held its annual conference in Nashville this past August at the Sheraton Grand Nashville Downtown. Before choosing the Sheraton Grand, my conference planning committee co-chair and I contacted roughly a dozen hotels by phone and email to obtain information and proposals for the conference for approximately 200 participants for three days. Not one hotel could compare to the Sheraton Grand in terms of staff responsiveness, helpfulness, flexibility, professionalism, friendliness, and the all-important pricing. Once we decided on the Sheraton Grand, we made an advance trip to see the venue in person (although I have coincidentally stayed there twice before) and meet with Senior Sales Manager Jennye Williams and Abby Bateman, Convention Services Manager. When we met them in the lobby, we were surprised to see not only Jennye and Abby, but also Joseph Agieby, Director of Banquets, Area General Manager Kristofer Carlson, Sara Jones, Group Reservations Coordinator, and Michael Leggitt, Director of Event Technology for Encore, there to welcome us and introduce themselves to us. We then went to a sit-down meeting where we were presented with materials prepared for us and went over all our requirements and needs. Once finished, we were even more certain of our choice of venue. I should mention that my co-chair has coordinated these DEAFNA conferences for the past twelve years and, while I have only assisted on two, I previously coordinated and conducted over 40 international conferences while working for the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Office of International Training, so we have extensive experience in conference planning and, therefore, much to compare with the Sheraton Grand. My co-chair and I arrived two days prior to the conference and met with Jennye, Abby and Joseph on Saturday morning and several times more to ensure everything was ready for the conference, which then went off without a hitch. Our welcome reception was held in the Skye Bar, a 360-degree top of the hotel venue with spectacular views. The food and beverage service were outstanding and was complimented repeatedly by our attendees. It is worth noting that Abby was so on top of things that she even came in on a Sunday night to man the reserved elevator for the reception guests herself when she could have easily had someone else take care of it. And while this was the first time Abby surprised us, this was far from the last. She was everywhere and anywhere, always ensuring things were going well. Equally impressive was Joseph, who was also ever present to ensure the opening cocktail reception, the breakfast event, the meeting, and the banquet dinner were perfect. We actually began to wonder if Abby and Joseph ever went home. In the end, the conference and every event at the hotel were outstanding thanks to the tireless and extraordinary efforts of Abby, Joseph, Jennye, Sara, Kris, and all of their respective staff. I highly recommend anyone considering a conference in Nashville look no further than the Sheraton Grand Nashville Downtown. The hotel is beautiful, but it’s the management and staff that truly exceed all expectations. - Scott Ando

Nice hotel outdated rooms

Sightsee272702 (Kansas City, Missouri) on Sep 13, 2023

No refrigerator in the room, tiny bathroom, desk chair was the most uncomfortable thing. Great view out the window. Only 4 elevators, made getting to and from the room a chore. Parking was outrageous!
