Amazing Birthday Stay – Exceptional Staff
Stephanie S (Atlanta, Georgia) on Dec 16, 2025
I was at the Marriott in New York this past week to celebrate my birthday, and despite a very rough start to the trip, the experience turned out to be absolutely amazing thanks to the incredible staff. From the moment I arrived, the views of Times Square were stunning truly breathtaking and exactly what you hope for when staying in NYC. But what really made this stay unforgettable was the kindness and care shown by the staff. A very special shoutout to Junior at the front desk. After a long and frustrating day of travel including multiple flight issues and my airline losing my luggage he was so sweet, patient, and genuinely kind. He could tell I had a rough birthday arrival and went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed and cared for. When I returned to my room the next day and found wine, cheese, and sweets waiting for me, it completely made my day. That thoughtful gesture turned everything around and reminded me that kindness truly matters. I wanted Junior to know how much his compassion and attention meant to me it made my birthday feel special after such a difficult start. The entire staff was amazing, professional, and warm throughout my stay. This experience is exactly why great hospitality stands out. I will absolutely be back. Thank you, Marriott, for turning a stressful birthday trip into a memorable one.
Had a great NYC staycation (our kiddos especially had the best time)!

Had a little NYC staycation here with our two kids, 7 & 5 (tourists in our own state!) and had the best time. Beautiful accommodations, central location, views overlooking Times Square, beautifully decorated hotel during the holidays and so many fun things to do for the kids both in the hotel and in the area! At hotel check-in they surprised my kids with a really cute book that highlighted all there's to do in the hotel for them and also in the neighborhood (like the Lego Store and M&M World) which acted as a neat little guide for them (and also gave them some fun activities in the back that helped keep them busy). Loved that (such a nice touch to start our trip)!
Staying here again.

We stayed in a delux 2 double room as a family with 16 and 17 year olds. It was the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The room was sufficiently sized and the sofa was large enough for my 5’3” 115 lb teen to sleep on with room to spare. The hotel was huge! Service was efficient and the place was in good, clean condition. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We requested early check in for 11 am (did not pay for it) but the room wasn’t ready until 2 pm. Regular check in was 4. Valet was easy, storing bags prior to check in was also easy. We stayed only 1 night so having only one bathroom didn’t impact us. Bathroom was clean and updated. Beds were comfortable. We were on the 27th floor. Elevators were quick. Our view was great onto a side street but not a Times Square view. We had drinks in the cafe over looking Times Square. Great views of Times Square. Service was quick and drinks were great. We felt safe at all times. We are fairly picky about hotel quality but refuse to pay a premium. I’d definitely stay here again.
Great location, average hotel.

With the constant flow of guests, you’re treated like a customer at a restaurant on Piazza San Marco: don’t expect a smile, and consider yourself lucky to get a seat at the breakfast buffet. We managed to switch from two rooms to a connecting room at check-in, but no one mentioned the additional “room transfer fee”—several hundred dollars—which showed up at checkout. Also be aware of the extra $40 per room, per day “destination fee.” It’s like a resort fee: you can put it toward Wi-Fi, the gym, or dining, but it feels like a cash grab. Especially with two rooms and a longer stay… The rooms were fine, nothing special and a bit worn (but clean). Breakfast was good. On the plus side, the location is excellent. Right on Times Square and within easy walking distance of many sights.
Wonderful Stay!

We took our 89-year old mother to NYC to see the Buena Vista Social Club and stayed at the Marriott Marquis for 2 nights. This hotel is wonderful! The room was spacious and very clean. The staff are so friendly and helpful. And the location is perfect if you want to stay in Times Square. I highly recommend staying at this hotel!
