Noisy Guests and Management Does Nothing

We stayed here Christmas Eve after a day at Disneyland. This was our third stay here. Check in was smooth and parking was easy. However, the management and security does a very poor job of dealing with loud and obnoxious guests. At 10pm and all hours of the night my young kids, husband and I were awoken by our neighbors who had their door wide open and were yelling and making loud noises. We had to call the front desk twice before anyone came and even then the hotel security did basically nothing. We had a horrible night sleep and all ended up getting sick after. When I spoke with the front desk the next morning I couldn't even get a manager to speak with me and all that got waived was my parking. I was told a manager would call me within the next day or two and ten days later no call. I called again and still no manager would speak with me. Never will stay here again.
OK if all you're doing is sleeping

I'm shocked that people love this place so much. I can understand appreciating it for what it is, but not *loving* it. We are passholders living out of state so we come down a lot and always need a hotel. Have stayed in many hotels on the east side of the park, but this was our first (and last) time at the GL. Convenient, yes. It doesn't get much closer to the park entrance than this. However, the entire place is completely run down. The room had awful glaring EXTREME fluorescent lighting--my teenagers called them murder lights because it really looked like the atmosphere for a horror movie. We opted to have the lights off to avoid headaches and squinting, which meant most of the time we were in the dark using flashlights--the motel style door/window orientation means that you cannot have your blinds open and also have privacy. I will say that the bathroom and sheets were --blessedly-- clean. I guess this place is fine if you just want to crash, which is what we did. In the park at opening, home at 1am, repeat, repeat. I would not have wanted to spend another minute hanging around in the room.
I can't comment on the desk staff because our interaction was about sixty seconds long. I will say that when we checked in late at night, we asked if there was a place to get water, and they told us no. Then on the way to the room we found soda vending machines with water. So at least there is that.

Pros: good location
Cons: run down, pricey, noisy
We have stayed at over a dozen hotels around Disneyland and this was our least favourite. We booked a Premium 2 Queen room for 7 nights and paid a lot just for the convenience of being close to the park.
Room was small, tiles broken, door had a gap, wardrobe door broken, tub had mold around it. No store for sundries in the lobby. We would never stay here again.
I’m not sure how they have so many good reviews? Must have better rooms than what we had, and we paid extra for one of the premium rooms.

If you have never been to Disneyland you need to consider The Grand Legacy at the Park for your hotel accommodations. The location is directly across from both parks. It’s an easy and short walk. Also I want to rave about Freddy Cruz, the manager he helped us with a last minute booking dilemma. He made our experience that much better. They also have a rooftop restaurant and bar you want to visit during your stay. Thank you to all the staff!
