Outdated hotel with construction works noises!
301lina (Dubai, United Arab Emirates) on May 07, 2025
Our stay was a nightmare! They have construction works in the hotel, but on their website when we booked the room there was no any information about it! The whole stay from 9 am the drills were drilling right above our room and we didn’t have a hot water in the room until 5pm because of the works. When you come back tired after the park , you just want to have shower and relax . Unfortunately, we paid a huge amount of money , but we didn’t have this opportunity. Overall, the hotel is very outdated and for a lower price you can stay in modern new hotels 5 mins ride from the park, like Hyatt and etc. Don’t stay at this hotel, if you respect yourself!
What’s not to love… location… people… club level…

We are just coming to the end of a 4 night stay at hard rock, club level. We have had the most amazing time, the staff have all been so lovely and welcoming, from the front desk, maintenance, house keeping, to the lounge, the beach club & pool. Have never stayed club level before, wasn’t sure what to expect, but it made things so much easier, from not having to worry about finding food on arrival, in the morning, and enjoying some beer when back from the park & desserts in the evening. The room is spacious and comfortable, being able to get a yoga mat & record player with vinyl, in our room, was a lovely touch. Close proximity to the parks is brilliant, and being able to grab the water taxi, when you just can’t walk another step, is lovely. The pool is nice and chill, can use floats, and bob around, listening to music or watching a film. There’s sun cream & plenty of towels. Would we come back?! A resounding yes! There is construction works going on, we did hear a bit of noise but we were out most of the time it was going on. It’s just one of these things, not too much of an inconvenience and we knew about it beforehand. Thanks for a brilliant stay!!
This year 2025 - Room Rates, BE AWARE
Trey C on Apr 29, 2025
I have visited Orlando Universal for the past 18 years. BE AWARE if you're looking to book this hotel or the Portofino...the rate increases vs. same time LY are out of control. Hard Rock is an easy 40-50% more expensive (Portofino 100% in most cases) with no additional amenities. Rooms are decent...you're paying for the location (mostly). But this year they hiked their rates insanely...LY almost any week it was $6xx.xx and there were two weeks that dropped to $480 (Garden room)...TY...$900-$960 same room, same amenities. CRAZY. Also be aware...they're changing their room rates EVERY day...!
Clean and friendly fast passes added bonus

Nice and clean friendly staff we had club level wouldn’t say I’d do it again as wasn’t really there for the food apart from breakfast. Rooms were well equipped had a lovely coffee machine. Only down side was there was 5 of us 2 adults 2 teens and a 7 year old not a lot of space once the fold out bed was up and the fold out bed was very old and dated. Pool was fun and the fast passes you get from staying here we’re definitely worth it
Staff mistakes are at your expense

We are season pass holders and visit Universal at least 2–3 times per year from New England. We've never had an issue until now. During check-in at the Hard Rock Hotel, due to a mistake by the staff member assisting us, my bank card was charged nearly six times the correct amount. Instead of the expected $600, it was nearly $3,000. We work hard and save carefully for these trips, and this error completely wiped out our available funds — leaving us with zero spending money for 1–3 business days while the issue is resolved. Now, I have to explain to my kids that despite planning ahead and saving, we won’t be able to enjoy parts of our vacation due to a mistake made by the Hard Rock staff. If any overdraft fees occur, I’m expected to cover them myself. When I asked for a simple courtesy, like comping a dinner to help ease the hardship they caused, I was told there were "no notes on the account" — not surprising, considering if proper attention had been given in the first place, the error likely wouldn’t have happened. We have stayed at every Universal hotel over the years, but we will not be returning to the Hard Rock Hotel. Shame on them for making a massive financial mistake and refusing to help in any meaningful way afterward.
