We have just done a week’s stay at Hard Rock after a week at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. The Positives The proximity to Islands of Adventure and Studios and the pleasant walk alongside the water. The boat was also a good option. The pool and the staff. The kids loved the decent sized pool and slide and the staff around the pool were friendly and helpful. The Express passes were a nice perk (just a shame they don’t include Epic) but allowed us more time to enjoy the rides and attractions. The Negatives There is nowhere in the room to hang wet clothes from water rides and pool. Just a string to pull across the shower (like you get in most hotels) would be a start. The cost of parking is extortionate and feels completely unnecessary given the price of the hotel (Disney don’t do this either!). The shuttle buses could be better. On one day we waited for 30 minutes for a bus to Epic. Plus it’s frustrating always being second after Portofino. Hard Rock should have their own shuttle service, not play second fiddle. Overall it was a good stay, but feel there could be some improvement for the money.

Gardens and walk to the parks was covered in litter there was literally a sock and glass full of some liquid in the bush hotel theming wasn’t great lobby smelt weird went to room checked in quickly patterns where dark look like they where to hide dirt apple juice in the middle of the corridor? Room was a fine size no where to hang up wet clothes after we went to volcano bay and popeyes???? Shower was fine didn’t even top up shower gel unlike Disney who top it out instantly $1400 dollars a night for 4 in a basic room with a bad view no balcony even… The parking was $50 which didn’t make it free at the park buses where fine I guess parks where great pool and slide where great little bit dirty though would rather stay at Disney

We booked a one-night stay at Universal’s Hard Rock Hotel as a special treat, taking advantage of a great deal that included the room plus Unlimited Express Passes for both check-in and check-out days. The hotel itself is gorgeous — our room was lovely, and the location couldn’t be better. The walk along the water to Universal Studios is absolutely beautiful and one of the highlights of staying on-site. However, we did experience a few issues that took away from the overall stay. We never received the text message to confirm our room was ready, which I can only assume was due to my number being recorded incorrectly. On check-out day we were told we could continue using the hotel facilities, but when we returned from the parks and tried to enter through the rear doors to collect our luggage, our room key wouldn’t let us in. Another family had the same problem. Thankfully someone else came along and opened the door for all of us — not ideal when it’s pouring with rain and you’re just trying to get inside. The queues at reception were consistently long throughout our stay. It would make a huge difference if Hard Rock offered an app-based online check-in option for international guests, similar to what Disney provides for UK visitors. Overall, we loved the hotel, the room, and the location — but a few operational improvements would make the experience truly seamless.

The moment we got into the hotel we were greeted by smiles and helpful staff . We were early so our room was not ready but they helped sort out keys and passes for the park . They asked questions about our day and what we got up to the day before and that was very much appreciated. When we came back our room was ready and we were given a beautiful garden view room and it was gorgeous . The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable so much so we had trouble getting my son up . I will always recommend this hotel as it’s worth every penny from the staff to the passes and the easy walk to universal what more could you want ,

Great location however overpriced for what you get. This hotel needs an urgent upgrade. It should be a 5star for what you pay. The Hard Rock brand is slowly dying.
