Disappointing Stay – Poor Soundproofing, Multiple Disruptions, and Minimal Compensation
craigpV7828AI (Irishtown, Canada) on Jan 29, 2025
My wife and I have been staying at Westgate Town Resort in Orlando for three weeks, and unfortunately, our experience has been incredibly frustrating. We were looking forward to a comfortable, long-term stay, but ongoing issues have completely ruined our experience. Severe Noise Issues: The rooms are connected by a non-soundproof door, making it impossible to block out noise from neighboring units. Our first room had a guest loudly talking on the phone all day, seemingly working remotely. We requested a room change, which was accommodated, but the same issue persisted—our new neighbors left their TV on all night long, preventing us from getting proper rest. The lack of soundproofing in this resort is a major flaw. Disruptive Sprinklers at Midnight: Just when we thought we might finally get some sleep, we were woken up at midnight by the resort's sprinklers hitting a metal fence, creating a loud, echoing noise that lasted for an hour. Completely unacceptable for a resort that advertises a relaxing stay. Fire Alarms and Smoke Issues: This morning at 7:00 AM, we were jolted awake by the fire alarms going off in our building. While we understand safety measures are necessary, there was no actual fire or emergency—just a neighbor cooking breakfast. The smoke from their room even entered ours due to the gaps under the adjoining door, which further highlights the resort’s poor room design and ventilation issues. Lack of Meaningful Resolution: They did move us to a different floor after our first complaint but the sound continued within a day of the move. Plus we had to pack everything up which was not a small chore and ate up much of our afternoon. After multiple complaints and giving the resort every opportunity to make things right, all they offered was a late checkout—which does nothing to compensate for multiple nights of lost sleep and disruptions. For a three-week stay, this lack of customer care is unacceptable. The only positive I can mention is that the staff were friendly, and I appreciate their efforts within their capacity. However, that does not make up for the multiple disruptions and lack of real resolution to our issues. I have noticed that Westgate Town Resort responds to Google reviews, which is great, but perhaps they should focus on resolving guest issues before those reviews need to be written. We gave them ample opportunity to make this right before posting this review, yet nothing meaningful was done. Had I known about these issues before booking, I would have chosen another hotel. I cannot recommend this resort to anyone looking for a peaceful stay, and I would strongly advise potential guests to consider alternative accommodations. I sincerely hope Westgate Town Resort takes guest feedback seriously and makes improvements. However, based on my experience, I would not return and would caution others about the same issues.
Westgate best rooms,1bedroom GRAND VILLA…has to have word GRAND to get the best 1 bedroom with huge jacuzzi and balcony

This resort nice.watched it upgrade since 99 when carpet was in,lol. Can not compare any other to WESTGATE TOWN CENTRE…rooms are fantastic. Master bedroom has a jacuzzi size for 3,huge. I just saw there new updated rooms with with new style tile, countertop, furniture. Was building 5000. I stayed 1 night then went across to 4000 building for 8 nights. Should’ve stayed 6000 building cause pool right there, was better, anyway.I got a 2 bedroom was not updated,I think better looking tile, lol. One was a “GRAND” 1 bedroom FULL kitchen then they give you another 1 bedroom studio kitchenette attached with a door making it a 2 bedroom…It’s huge. 4 of us had a lot of space..kids r 22yr old other 18…Balcony huge as well furnished. You call for linings it comes, you call for pots or pans it comes, you need paper goods,it comes no problem…this resort I’ve been doing over 20 yrs. Elevators work, you got uboats for luggage near them….staff does there work very clean resort…Town center is on 192,next to Walmart, all Disney parks down here near it cause your like 4 miles from basic entrance in car that takes you to every park they got. Traffic getting back is NOT great. There’s traffic leaving unless u leave late. I was there parks were not really packed, thanksgiving week..there was traffic leaving onto rt4 and going towards 192. Now there’s another resort,Westgates 1st,it’s were I went 1999…at Turkey lake road, near universal, sea world, international drive…it’s exactly same as town center at Kissimmee it’s very close to universal parks. If your going those parks more or only those you stay up there……people don’t realize the traffic between Disney and universal parks…..it’s hell and there construction now on this date…if your universal parks down florida majority of your stay….stay away from Disney resorts…traffic will be horrible leaving cause u gotta use rt4….anyway,westgate resort and spa it’s called…it’s very very close to universal area…Disney you stay at Westgate town center…..
