Relaxing Weekend Getaway

sbswiatowicz (St. Augustine, Florida) on Jul 25, 2021

My husband and I spent the weekend here for our anniversary, and we were so impressed! The resort is absolutely pristine, beautiful, well-maintained and clean. Daniella checked us in at the front desk and made sure we were taken care of. We stayed in the Sunset Lodge. The decor was calming and coastal. The room was spacious, and the housekeepers kept it so clean. We loved spending our day at the adult pool as well as at the Sunset Lodge pool. Mr Guernsey at the adult pool bar was such a efficient, friendly, and fun bartender/server. The piña colada’s were quite refreshing! The lazy river and putt putt were fun options to have. David’s provided us an absolutely delicious anniversary dinner. I highly recommend the chop chop salad, ribeye, grouper, po boy, lobster roll, and the bread pudding. Service there was impeccable. We truly enjoyed two days of complete relaxation, and can’t wait to return!

Ruined our entire trip

MMA08 on Jul 19, 2021

Flat out do not stay here, they are not cleaning the rooms to regular standards, much less COVID-19 standards as they claim. The rooms were filled with mold and mildew, and were so humid the carpet felt damp. Trash from previous guests was left on the floor and we had to ask multiple times for it to actually be cleaned. Housekeeping would bring towels and make up the bed, but they would leave the dirty towels on the bathroom floor. The room was outdated, and covered in dust, I had to wipe down the surfaces of the room with my own sanitizing wipes just to feel like I was in a clean environment. When the issues was addressed with management, they ignored the situation. We were also told by several staff that multiple members of housekeeping had been fired for sleeping in guests rooms while they were supposed to be cleaning. We were so disgusted by the room, it was hard to actually enjoy the reason we were there. If you are going to host events such as dance conventions, please make sure you are treating those guests the same way you treat your medical convention, it was very obvious the hotel staff was annoyed by the dance convention families that were there. We spent nearly $2,000 to stay in a "resort" that doesn't have as high of a standard as a Holiday Inn.
