Mostly Good

Nice, clean hotel. Our suite was spacious and quiet. The golf course and pool are nice and the location is convenient. The only issues we had was the pullout couch mattress had zero cushioning and the coils stuck out and hurt my son. They did replace it for future nights but he was in pain. All they gave us was free breakfast to apologize. Also the air conditioning is incredibly loud - we couldn’t watch TV or talk while in the room with it on. It definitely needs to be serviced.
Dilapidated. Probably was once really nice

Booked a stay here despite reading some of the bad reviews. Figured people were expecting too much or had overly lofty expectations. I should have heeded the reviews. This hotel is pretty run-down and doesn't seem to want to improve. Would recommend avoiding unless they get some new management in here. The good: All of our experiences with the on-site restaurant were great. The food and service were both excellent. Location is great - close to everything and quiet. Golf course and mountains are nice to look at Pool is nice and big The not-so-good: When we arrived at the pool the first day, the trash cans were overflowing and there were no towels available. When they finally brought towels out, there were only like 20 or so, so it was like a "hunger games for towels" with all guests clamoring for them and they were gone within seconds. This happened another couple times while we were at the pool. People were laughing and exchanging glances because it was so ridiculous. When we were checking out, there was a woman at the front desk complaining (in the morning, on a Monday, no less!) about this same thing, so it appears to be a chronic issue. The shower curtain inside the room was dingy and smelled like mildew - gross. The outside of nearly all guest room doors were incredibly banged up like a cheap motel. Desperately in need of repainting We declined room cleaning but on our 2nd day, we needed some extra shower towels. Tried calling by pressing "0" on the provided phone but noone picked up - just rang and rang. Went down to the front desk and requested towels. The guy there said he didn't have any at the front desk but would ask housekeeping to deliver some, wrote something down on a piece of paper. Waited 45 minutes (!) - wife and daughter wanted to take a shower to wash the chlorine off them. After 45 minutes, I went back down to the front desk, and another guy there handed me towels on the spot. No apology. The view from the room was terrible - overlooking the roof of the banquet hall. We requested to change rooms but were told there was nothing available. This is not the hotel's fault but kind of defeats the purpose of a balcony. Conclusion: This hotel was probably once really nice! It has great "bones," a nice big pool, and again the restaurant is great. But man! Noone seems to care about cleaning it up and it's just ... sad and dilapidated...
Don't expect much

This hotel feels empty; it might have patrons, but the warmth is not there. Even the cookies aren't warm. Definitely, the service and friendliness of the front desk staff are lacking. The hotel is aged, as evidenced by the bathrooms and rooms. Pillows arent comfortable either. On the plus side, the food at the Mira bar and breakfast at Polanco were very good Pool views are nice to hang out
Room nice. Front desk absent. tried to call front desk more than once and no answer. Even no answer with operator,

I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with my current stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Palm Springs. We paid nearly $2,000 for a week-long stay based specifically on the amenities advertised, including outdoor fire pits by the pool, fire pit seating areas, ground-floor rooms with fire pits, and updated rooms. Upon arrival, none of these amenities were available to us. We were informed they exist only in a very limited number of rooms “if installed,” which was not disclosed at the time of booking. Additionally, the room we were assigned is not updated as advertised and is in poor condition. The carpet appears unclean, the furnishings are worn, and the overall state of the room falls well below what is expected of a Hilton-branded hotel at this price point. This is not consistent with the description used to market the property and directly influenced our decision to book. This situation constitutes a significant misrepresentation of the property. Had the amenities and room condition been accurately described as limited or unavailable, we would have selected a different hotel. We have just checked in and are already considering leaving due to the discrepancy between what was promised and what was delivered. I am requesting that Hilton review this matter promptly and provide an appropriate resolution, whether that be a partial refund, relocation assistance, or other compensation. At minimum, the property’s advertising should be corrected to prevent future guests from experiencing the same issue. I look forward to your timely response.
