Eat place we’ve ever stayed

live4tomorrow89 (Santa Paula, California) on Sep 21, 2021

This was the most spectacular place we have ever stayed. My kids swam in the many pools for hours on end eachday. They have two water slides for taller children I believe 48” and a smaller water slide for children 42” or with an adult. My son is 10 and my daughter is 2 1/2 and it’s hard for us to pick places where they can both have fun, but we don’t ever need to look any further this place had it all, for all of us.

More Good than Bad

javapick (Santa Ana, California) on Sep 21, 2021

My check-in experience was less than desirable. I checked in and was offered a king rather than the block-rate double queen I had reserved. I happily accepted. When in the room, the low-level view of the valet area wasn't enjoyable, so I asked if there was a room with a view. I was moved to a room with a pool view at the additional cost of $10 per night, which I didn't mind. However, the balcony door could not be unlocked, I stepped on a metal object on the carpet with my bare foot while trying to get to the phone to request someone to look at the balcony door. I got to the nightstand where the phone was, and there was hair on it. I picked up the phone and there was crud on the handset and on the base. Clearly, the whole room hadn't been vacuumed or wiped down, much less disinfected. Who knows how long it had been since the balcony had been cleaned if you couldn't even get out to it. I used the speaker phone to call the front desk. After ringing for about a minute with no answer, I went to the front desk to ask for a clean room. The clerk questioned what time I arrived, saying that if they knew I was arriving late they would have had my room ready. Clearly she hadn't noted the number of rooms I had already been in, nor did she seem to recognize that I had called two days prior to inform the hotel of my late arrival. Her casting blame on me for being given a dirty room was disappointing. Ultimately, she assigned me to another room and she finished by being very kind. I requested assistance in moving my belongings from the dirty room to the new one. The man who helped me was kind and helpful. A few minutes after I had my belongings moved over, the front desk clerk called, apologizing for the inconvenience and extending a $75 credit to my account. That was unexpected but appreciated. In the morning, I received a call and an email from the Guest Services manager saying that my first night's rate would be reduced by 50%. Again, not expected, but appreciated. One thing that I found odd, and it could be that I simply wasn't looking in the right place, I couldn't find dining options information anywhere. Not on the guide on the TV, not on the hotel info provided via the scan code link on the check-in paperwork, and there was no printed info in the room. Lastly, at the pools, there were often empty drink cups, essentially trash, laying around all over the grounds. It's disappointing that guests are so messy, but there was also pool staff delivering orders, walking
