Good except for housekeeping

This is a very nice hotel within walking distance (about 10 minutes) to downtown. We stayed here because we are Marriott Bonvoy members and had enough points to cover our 5 night stay. Typically I prefer something smaller. Very pretty lobby. On the day we checked in someone was handing out drinks in the lobby and there is always ice water and a flavored water available which was a nice touch. We went to Dates, their breakfast restaurant, and did the full buffet ($18pp). They had a continental for $10, plus an a la carte menu. The service there was good and the food was typical breakfast food. In our 5 night stay we only did breakfast there once because we found Koffee right down the road which we preferred. We also went for drinks at Rocks in the lobby one night. Again, the service was good, the drinks were average. Though it was too cold for swimming, we did sit out by the pool to read one day. They pool bar was not open. The rooms were fine. There was really nothing special about them, and could have been cleaner. This brings me to my only complaint which is the housekeeping. When we walked in to the room there was something crushed in the rug- which I think was a Junior mint? It was very obvious, so made me think they didn’t clean the room well before our arrival. When I did the online checkin, I chose the option of daily housekeeping, but they only came once in our 5 night stay. I asked at the front desk if they could come, but still no one did. Housekeeping even emailed me (I think their standard practice) and I asked them for To, towels and to make up the room, but still no one did. We had to go searching for a housekeeper on the floor to get toilet paper and towels. It was just annoying as we were usually out of the room until 4:00 and thought the room would be made up during the day while we were gone. I debated giving the hotel a 3/5 but everything else was fine except the housekeeping. I would probably try somewhere different if we find ourselves back in Palm Springs. Location is great though.
Not worth the money, stay someplace else

I don’t usually leave reviews but felt the need to leave one after our experience here. Hotel is pretty run down once you get up and close. Stains in the carpet, door to the bathroom was damaged, and the hotel certainly looks weathered. Walls are thin, and each time a door closes from another room your room will vibrate. Heater/AC unit is old and extremely loud when running. Music from the pool was extremely loud (we were on the third floor facing the pool) and went on till midnight despite a request sent in at 10pm. Good thing we had earplugs. This hotel needs a facelift and is definitely not worth the ~US$300 a night. Have stayed at numerous Marriott properties as a Platinum Elite and this is one of the worst. They did comp our parking at $32 a night but I also don’t know why they charge $32 a night for parking when parking is free in Palm Springs to begin with…
