I wish so very much that you can leave zero stars.

I booked a vacation to Palm Springs for 5 days at the Marriott Renaissance. What a disaster that was. I booked it 5 months ago and when I arrived they informed me that the hotel was closed for two days for a splash event. I asked how can that happen if I have a reservation...they had no answer. When I started to ask for a manager, the guy Alex who I have no idea who he was or where he came from said..:well we can cancel your reservation and go someplace else. Of course that was the last thing anyone should say to a guest. This place is so unprofessional. I again asked for the manager. Out comes Jackie with the same attitude as Alex. I explained to her again what was going on and she said the same thing...I can cancel your reservation and you can go somewhere else. You cant make this stuff up....When I started to get angry, Jackie said well I will check you in but you cant use the pool or the facilities for the next two days. I said why didnt you reach out to me and tell me the hotel was closed for a private event? Jackie stated...we dont call guests and tell them that. I guess you just fly and show up and they tell you in person. Unbelievable... I am a former Marriott employee, Marriott stockholder and a silver elite member. When I told Jackie that I was going to call corporate, only then did she offer to find me a room elsewhere. I told her dont bother. I will do it my self. We found a beautiful resort right in downtown, where they made our stay the best it could be...I would suggest you think twice about staying at the resort. It has rude staff, looks rundown and caters to parties from Coachella. You have so many beautiful options in Palm Springs...explore them before considering Marriott Renaissance Resort. I called Corporate and working with them on what will happen about this horrible event. Plus parking is $50 a day added to your bill. Other resorts no charge with valet.
Fabulous hotel and stay

We arrived a good couple hours prior to our check in time and decided to leave our bags at reception and head straight to the pool.
DJ was such a gem and offered us early checkin to our room and gave us a balcony too. We hastily dropped our belongings in the room and proceeded to head to the pool for a hot day in the sun.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. All the staff especially DJ, had a smile on their face and willing to go above and beyond.
Room was so nice and chilled after coming in from the. Had the most pleasant weekend ever! The peppermint tea in the room is delicious! My fiancé and I loved our stay and the pool is so inviting and definitely the cherry on top ?? Thanks to all the staff ?? ps. We brought our own $8 pool floaty - highly recommend ?? Thanks Renaissance! ??
Do not stay in this hotel

5 night stay that included switching rooms and finally complaining to the manager and the owners of the hotel as well as Marriott. I have stayed in Marriotts of all Brands the world over. There is an expectation when one checks into a Renaissance and this place completely misses the mark. The hotel is run down beyond explanation. Common areas are ok but the pool and rooms and terrible. I expected Marriott to take a stand here, usually they have expectations, this place does not even warrant being a Fairfield. Service, as with most places these days is also terrible. No room service, dreadful bar service and pool service is a joke.
Do not stay at this hotel.

Got to the hotel pretty early and was able to get early check in and upgraded to a pool view balcony room ???
Gianno was very friendly, personable and informative. Nice rooms, great pool view and great balcony. Lobby is very pretty, front of hotel is very nice ??????, very clean all around. Had the pool pretty much to ourselves most of the day (weekday). Only reason it didn't get 5 stars, no fan in bathroom, toilet flush was strange, AC in the middle of night/morning seemed to not blow cool anymore (felt muggy) and the pool bar wasn't open. Totally will/would stay again.
Abysmal place for a weekend getaway

Hotel looks amazing from the pictures, but once you check-in everything goes downhill from there. I will give the staff credit for being very friendly.
Checked into our room 2315 and it was warm, extremely warm and humid. The A/C was running full blast. We give it a few hours to cool our room and nada. Humid and warm. A maintenance engineer looks at it and says the coils are dusty. Says will grab some coil cleaner and should be good. Returns 20 minutes later, "sorry dawg, no coil cleaner in stock".
It's now 6pm and we're sweaty and agitated. Room thermostat reads 78 degrees. Engineer comes back pretends to tinker around and says you're good to go. I say it feels the same. "sorry man, all a/c blow like this, all rooms are the same". Hotel is sold out for the weekend and they bring me a fan. OK it helps. We'll deal with it.
I go to the toilet to drop a #2. The toilet has no flushing power. The turd just spins around. I flush about 10x before calling the front desk. Engineer comes up tinkers around and voila sir your toilet is fixed. Wifey then takes a 2 and nada. Turd just spins again and again. SERIOUSLY? A/C is busted and the toilet doesn't flush. AMAZING. Maintenance says there's a serious plumbing problem with some toilets and we're one of the unfortunate ones. Guess we'll have to go downstairs to take a dump.
But wait, there's more!!
We put some nice cheeses and hams in the fridge for a charcuterie board in the fridge and guess what? The fridge thermostat was turned to the lowest level. Everything was spoiled the next day.
Breakfast buffet is absolute garbage. The eggs are spongey and flavorless. The bacon is so chewy it makes your teeth grind. The French Toast was great, so I'll credit where it's deserved.
This place is horrid and I've never had such a horrible stay. Guarantee the Motel 6 down the road has better A/C and toilets than this hotel. Like I said, ABYSMAL place to stay. Will never return and will be sure to tell everyone I know to avoid the Renaissance.
