Thanks Clarissa!!!

Becky A on Jan 10, 2025

Clarissa was so helpful! Unfortunately, the first room that was assigned to us smelled like cigarette smoke so we told Clarissa about it and she immediately found us a new room. She upgraded us to a suite and the suite was fabulous and smelled amazing. We were so grateful for her help!

Gordie the Concierge was extremely helpful and very professional. Such a pleasure to work with as he set our group up for a private event. He made sure everything was taken care of and followed up afterwards. Top Notch First Class Service!! Thank you Gordie!! 5 stars ++++

Fell Short of Expectations

Jon P (San Francisco, California) on Jan 07, 2025

I really wanted to love the Renaissance Palm Springs, but unfortunately it didn’t meet expectations. The property felt worn and tired with fingerprints on windows and surfaces, lots of debris in the hallways, a horrible mildew smell by the ice machine. It seemed like the place could use a good deep cleaning. There’s no complimentary bottled water and it felt like the hotel hasn’t fully recovered from the pandemic. It felt very much like a limited service hotel. The staff however were very friendly, especially Amor in the restaurant. The breakfast was delicious, there was only 1 bartender Jeremy at night who was fantastic but only having 1 bartender on a busy holiday weekend seemed ridiculous, felt bad for the guy, and they shut the bar down at 10pm!! The location is great but overall I would not be returning.

This is just a very average three star property that needs a lot of loving care

SFjoe (Sonoma, California) on Jan 07, 2025

This Marriott property, which is rated as a resort, really needs some love and care. What one notices as they walk around it’s that there are so many little things which need to be changed or improved upon. The breakfast service is atrocious and rivals what I would expect at a motel six breakfast. The best thing was the coffee and the worst are the breads which look like they had been pulled from a 7-Eleven and brought over. Flavorless chewy and downright disgusting. They have a coffee bar in the main lobby, but it is expensive. Eight dollars for a large coffee is ridiculous. The breads there they charge five dollars each and again they must be buying their supplies from the 7-11 day old stack. The pool area is in desperate need of someone to simply go and clean all the green mold that covers their outdoor furniture. This to me reflects a lack of management walking the property and seeing what needs to be improved upon or cleaned up. It’s clear there isn’t sufficient enough staff at the property, which is a problem with most Marriotts. This is the height of the season for Palm Springs and you would think the hotel would be doing everything to look. It’s best. On the plus side, it’s a large pool with ample lounge chairs though not very comfortable. Our room was spacious, but the soundproofing is pretty bad and when you turn on the air-conditioning, it sounds like an airplane taking off and it’s very loud all night long. It is clear that these rooms have not had an update or refreshed in a very long time. The toilet is almost like a child’s toilet. It sits so low to the ground and is still using the water guzzling 3 gallon tank. I’m surprised the hotel doesn’t upgrade at least their toilets to the low flush. But again it’s clear they’re not putting any investment into the property. The best benefit is that it’s within walking distance of city center.

Worthy stay because of staff

Ana G (Seattle, Washington) on Jan 05, 2025

The staff at Renaissance hotel made it a 5-star vacation for us! The front and pool landscape, the entrance, the different seating area (such well-decorated Xmas tree and touches of the holiday spirit tastefully placed throughout), the fire pit areas and the pool are all grand and stylish! The gym was always clean, fresh with (refrigerated) towels, water, apples and excellent choices of machines, benches, weights, tvs, plus a double door for outside air, if needed, besides great ventilation. The guests’ elevators need a refurbishment as well as the room bathrooms, and also the tvs: would be nice and time, for smart tvs in the rooms. The location is 2 easy blocks to the downtown area, about a 6-7 minute walk. What we were impressed, every day, for our Xmas 8-day vacay, was definitely the staff, and absolutely need to mention: Justin Smith (f/d), Ms. Erin & Gordon (concierges), Renato (pool), and Glenda (hskpg). These employees showed such kindness, such authenticity in making us welcomed and comfortable. There was a daily Happy Hour, with apple, pecan & pumpkin pies along with cider, sangria, and other sorts of yummy drinks offered with such good vibes by the two sweet and funny concierges. Justin S. learned that my daughter got sick and without hesitation brought us more tea, lemon and honey, asked Gordon to drop us off at the nearest Urgent Care, and daily checked on us! It was so unexpectedly thoughtful and generous We were so touched by such personal yet professional actions! We left hugging him with tears of joy and gratitude! Thank you again, Justin, you are a precious! ?? We will always remember our lovely stay, because of such wonderful people!
