Terrible, certainly not worth price or anything about it considered a "grand resort"

Extremely dissatisfied with the entire experience, upon check in at 4pm as directed by hotel (very late to begin with) we were told our rooms were not ready and were not able to check in until 6:15 PM. Were not given any offer to hold baggage for the extended wait time or where to park or where we could go to escape the heat within the resort. Felt that was the least they could have done to accommodate incoming guests who had booked 2 rooms for 4 nights. Then upon check in at 6:15 PM were told the rooms we had booked were not available. Supposedly were given "better" rooms but simply just did not get the rooms we booked. No offer for help with luggage to room on third floor, nor any luggage carts available??? Many areas of the parking lot closed off so navigating to area near rooms to park was difficult. Rooms were not as represented online as updated, they are very old/outdated, smudged/dirty windows and mirrors, dirty fridge with food left in it from previous guest, cigarette butts on balcony, bird poop all over balcony, candy wrappers on floor in room. Simply just not cleaned well. Bathtub clogged so it would fill up while showering with dirty water, toilet broken, safe did not work. Called for repairs but never came to make repairs. Only after after 4 phone calls, 2 front desk visits, 2 days and request to speak with manager were the bathtub drain and safe finally repaired. However, the repair staff left what he had removed from clogged drain in the bathroom. Totally disgusting and inexcusable. Just complete lack of customer service and frankly common courtesy. For the amount charged and to call this place a resort is a huge misrepresentation in every sense. Have had far better customer service at a cheap motel and would not ever recommend or return.

The water park was our reason for staying and possibly returning.

We chose the Hotel for two reasons - the Water Park, and the Tesla Destination Charging. The Water Park lived up to its billing - our 4 year old was delighted with it. There are lifeguards aplenty, and they were alert (didn't see any incidents, but they were not sleeping on the job). For older folk, the minutes wait between riders on the Water Slides (not to separate riders, but to allow the landing pool to refill) generates long queue waits. Getting to our "suite" was tricky - the buildings aren't labelled, and although the front desk helpfully supplied a marked up map, this is a large resort. Our "suite" wasn't huge, and the ammenties did not include a microwave - perhaps to encourage you to eat from the overpriced vendors. We also had a power point that didn't work, and a toilet that had to be fiddled with to stop from continuosly flushing. So the hotel is a wee bit tired. The destination charging turned out to be 4 "Level 2" 200V/13A bays. Free, but at 2-3 miles per hour charging, shared among thousands of guests, not what we were expecting. I ended up driving to a supercharger during the power outage on our first night - I assume somebody drove into a nearby utility (we saw it being fixed next day), and power was out for 90minutes odd, from around 2:27am. This included air-conditioning, and it got stifling, so I was suprised not to see other guests at the front desk. Checking with the front desk remotely was impossible - no answer (from cellphone - the room phone was out), and telephone menu just went in loops or cut out. Going to the front desk and there was a sign "back in 5 minutes", which was rather optimistic. It took using the courtesy phone there, to flush out a manager, to get a power return ETA. While I can't blame them for the outage, how they reacted to it, is very much on them. Its expensive. But that's Phoenix, from the Phoenician on down. Would we go again? Probably, depends on other family friendly options when next we go.
