Disappointing Experience with Room Condition and Front Desk Service
Voyage52796408186 on Apr 15, 2026
We stayed at Arizona Grand Resort recently and had a frustrating experience. Our original room had a leaking toilet, constant noise, and a strong sewer smell in the morning. When we asked the front desk for help, the male staff member we spoke with was not helpful and came across as dismissive. We were given very limited options, and it didn’t feel like our concerns were taken seriously. Overall, the handling of the situation by the front desk was disappointing.

Expensive, dirty and loud

Definitely not worth the money. The water park was nice but crowded (as expected, I wouldn’t be writing this review if that was the only issue). Our room was not very clean when we got there. Kids’ bare feet got dirty walking around the room after taking showers. Soap was not refilled. Not enough pillows or wash cloths were provided for 4 people (all on the reservation). I had to make several calls to housekeeping. But the worst thing was that fireworks were going off ALL NIGHT Friday night. 3am - still fireworks. I sleep in noise-cancelling ear buds that play white noise and these fireworks were still keeping me up.
A Family-Friendly Oasis with Outstanding Service

Our recent stay at the Arizona Grand Resort was a high-value experience, defined by a premier water park and service that truly sets it apart. While there are some operational challenges, the hospitality we received is the primary reason this remains a four-star experience rather than a lower rating. Highlights & Successes • Exceptional Hospitality: The staff is the resort's greatest asset. The reservations team proactively adjusted our rates when prices dropped and provided clear height-requirement expectations. This high level of care continued with a generous upgrade to a Villa King Suite, which was spacious and comfortable for our family. • The Villa Advantage: We found the Villas are absolutely worth the upgrade, especially if you plan to stay multiple nights or are traveling with a larger group. It is worth calling the resort directly to ask about the larger villas, which offer even more rooms and space. • The Oasis Water Park: Entry is efficient and the park provided hours of engagement. During the off-season, the room rate is often comparable to the cost of standalone water park tickets, representing excellent value. • Dining & Value: Food quality within the park is solid. Notably, we found the food value to be higher than Disneyland in terms of portion and quality. Prices range from roughly $14 for a footlong corn dog (without fries) up to $23 for chicken nachos. However, guests should budget for beverages, as it is standard to pay over $20 for a drink. • Amenities: The water refill stations and "Snow Cone" truck were big hits. While we didn’t visit the on-site spa or golf course this trip, the resort’s proximity to local off-site dining is a major plus. Areas for Improvement • Interrupted Sleep: We experienced significant noise disturbances. Golf course maintenance begins as early as 4:00 AM, and sound transfer from the floors above was noticeable. Additionally, fireworks at 1:00 AM further interrupted our sleep, which was disappointing. • Parking Logistics: During Oasis peak hours, parking near guest suites is nearly impossible. Prepare for a walk if you arrive back at the hotel mid-day. • Pool Temperature: Although advertised at 80°F, the wave pool fluctuated between 72°F and 76°F, which felt quite chilled even on warm days. • Slide Policy Consistency: The height requirement is 48 inches (stricter than many nearby resorts). While we respect the safety mandate, we noticed some inconsistency, with lifeguards occasionally allowing children under the limit to ride while others were turned away. Final Verdict The Arizona Grand Resort delivers a quality experience, largely buoyed by its professional staff and suite comfort. We look forward to returning once our children meet the slide height requirements.
Poor Service

The resort is fine, the pool side bar service at the bar itself is terrible. We waited on drinks. We waited on food. We waited on service, and again, they were not very busy, nor did they appear short staffed. They appeared to be distracted. For the prices they are getting for their food and drinks, I definitely expected much better service. The snow cone line for the kids moved much better and faster than the bar service. These were not kids serving us, these were young adults that should understand they are in the service business. I am very disappointed and cannot recommend spending your money on this poor quality of service. The food we did get was ok, but took over 30 minutes to get. It was an Açaí bowl? Pre made that! I got one of the two drinks I ordered. The bartender forgot my second drink. There are much better options.
