Felt like a movie, it was Awesome

My partner and I had an absolutely fantastic experience from arrival to check-out. Not only is the property beautiful at Casa Velas, but so are the staff and the energy as a whole. We arrived at check-in to a complimentary head and neck massage, which was wonderful after traveling all morning. We left check-in with an incredible tequila cocktail made with fresh juices. As we carried our Welcome Cocktail, all of our luggage was taken off of our hands by the concierge and we were led to our Jr.Master Suite. The door opened and we were hit with incredible aromatherapy - citrus, verbena, lily scents engulfed us. We were given the short tour of the room then we settled in. The balcony off our room was an excellent hang out spot to watch and listen to all of the birds, mostly great kiskadees, in the mornings. In the evenings, we sat out and watched the fruit bats feeding at dusk. Suite service for a few meals was an awesome experience, and very easy to order. The delivery was fantastic, as they don't just leave the cart for you, they ask to be invited in to set up food service at the dining table in the room. We were impressed with not only the quality and taste of the food we ordered, but also the top notch presentation. The food was fresh and delivered at an edible temperature - for hot and cold alike. We enjoyed several meals for lunch and dinner at the on-site restaurant, Emiliano. Another incredible experience with not only the food, but also the service. A major detail we noticed about each meal, including pool-side and beach-side service, are the portion sizes - they were perfect! Enough food to feel fed and comfortable, not over stuffed or leaving hungry whatsoever. After one particular dinner, we did not finish a bottle of sparkling wine and were allowed to take our remaining bottle and glasses to a table on the terrace. Sitting outside in the warm evening breeze was so serene and relaxing. The bartender from the lobby bar, Freddy, was incredibly attentive with us on the terrace, checking in on anything we may have needed to feel even More comfy and relaxed. And this is whole vibe of Casa Velas - relaxed, quiet, comfortable, and totally taken care of in every way possible. We felt so spoiled! It was awesome! We spent the majority of our time at the pool, as it was very hot (heat index above 100F) and the palm trees on the property provided ample shade. Ulises was our main host, and was an exceptional representation of the hospitality we received at Casa Velas. Our first evening on property, Ulises and his co-worker Juan were so incredibly kind to us, as they left the pool bar open an extra hour (until 6p) and allowed us to enjoy another club soda and Lion's Paw tequila drink. This is Jalisco and Casa Velas! This has never happened on any vacation or resort we've visited before. Absolutely above and beyond any 'normal' service experience - and trust, we know service experience because my partner and I both have worked in service, bar and restaurant. And because of this aspect, we're even more impressed with how we were treated, and with the quality and compassion that is felt and experienced throughout the people and property at Casa Velas. Pool-side service was awesome - service to your cabana is wonderful. Juan, Ramon, and Ulises will notice you sit down and before you know it, you have a menu and within minutes your first beverage - whether it be our favorite, club soda with lime, or one of the amazing craft cocktails listed on the drink menu. Another amazing detail we noticed was the compassion and understanding of staying healthy and hydrated with loads of water. They will immediately bring you bottled water at just about every possible moment, without ever having to ask! Along the same lines, staff noticed we spent an incredible amount of time at the pool one day, on a particularly hot day (heat index 105F, UV Max) - we had gotten back to our room and within 10mins, there's a knock at the door - a concierge was there with gatorade, bottled water, and snacks. This was incredible attention to detail and the moment we realized how much they pay attention to their guests. They become very in-tune with needs and habits, it legit felt like a movie so many times. All of this hospitality is felt at Tau Beach club as well. Pool-side and beach-side service was exceptional. Tau has beautiful views of the ocean and mountains, cabanas set up to enjoy the beach breeze. We had beach-side lunch, some club sodas, and a couple virgin mojitos. After feeling a little too warm, we moved up pool-side and enjoyed the rest of the afternoon being taken care of by Erik. We also had the pleasure of being served by Erik during our Tau Beach Club dinner the next evening. Another wonderful experience in every way. My partner and I worked hard at speaking Spanish as much as possible with staff in order to help them feel as comfortable with us as we did with them. This was so great as we were all taking turns learning Spanish and English together - such a beautiful symbiosis. We spent most of our time at the pool with Ulises, and we all exchanged favorite music selections and got to know one another. Again, an amazing connection of 2 different cultures appreciating and learning from each other. Not just a guest to staff relationship, but a real human connection. Very rare to experience on a resort vacation! Overall our experience felt like something out of a movie, and we didn't want to leave! We already decided that Casa Velas will be our yearly anniversary location, and can't wait to come back next year. We want to recognize a few staff members who made our week at Casa Velas extremely memorable: Restaurant/Suite Service - Rodolfo, Omar, Rashid, Freddy, Jesus, Jose, and Avolos Pool-side - Ulises (!!!), Juan, and Ramon Housekeeping - Anita Front Desk - Miguel, Alonso, and we're so sorry we have forgotten the name of the nice woman who works the front desk in the mornings - she saved us when we accidentally locked ourselves out on the balcony on our first morning (Aug 23) very soon after check in - thank you so much for the rescue!!! What a wonderful place. If you are even considering PV you must really consider Casa Velas. When first looking you’ll notice it is not one of the lower budget resorts. This is for a very good reason. The quality , cleanliness, comfort, service and all around beauty are supreme. Having stayed at boutique hotels and resorts all over I can say Casa Velas is among the very best. Juan, Ulysis, Ramon I miss you already. The staff from the front desk to the private beach club can not be beat for professional service. Armando is tremendously knowledgeable about his city. The first time visitor to PV as we were will not need guidebooks or online help. These people know and love their city. They will help guide you. For me I really did not want to roam from Casa Velas. It’s simply too nice to leave. Again, it is three or four levels above other all inclusive resorts. No buffets or premade meals or drinks. What they call a snack bar is not that. It’s gourmet, fresh made small meals. The rooms are clean, quiet, comfortable. The beach club is so wonderful. Same quality , fresh made. Food and drinks here. You’ll never find nicer people either. Spend the money. Go to Casa Velas. ITS WORTH IT. Warning though. You won’t want to leave. .
